Yes! His last weigh in was a little over 60 lbs. We will measure him next week when he turns 5 months. Based on Irish Wolfhound charts, he's on the smaller end of the spectrum.

Am considering pet insurance and luckily my best friends are a husband and wife who are both vets! Don’t use fb but there are lots of other resources that I have been reading. Also I am planning to use a BARF diet as I always did with my Giants and now there is a great company from Finland called MUSH that makes a really wholesome and well balanced food so now I won’t have to make it myself

If all goes according to plan the breeders dog will be breed in January and I will be getting my wolfhound puppy in the spring so I am interested in learning as much as possible. I have had Giant Schnauzers but this will be REALLY BIG dog.

Hi there! We’ve been waiting for the perfect time to adopt and almost chose another a few months prior. We had spoken to the breeder for over two hours and then had some anxiety about not being quite ready. From there, we knew we wanted to fence in our yard and make sure we did more research. After that, we found a new litter and found our Grohl. There are several Irish Wolfhound groups on fb if you use it. They are a wonderful resource even if you just search for prior posts. One thing we learned is that we needed pet insurance. Their injuries are very costly, and we didn’t want a financial crunch making some decision for us. We chose trupanion.

And Grohl absolutely loves his crate. There are many wolfhounds that aren’t crate trained and owners enjoy sharing the stories of their destroyed furniture and drywall. We are thankful that he’s 5 months old now and hasn’t caused major damage to our home or himself.
