Please be careful when grooming your Irish wolfhound. I will never forget this day. And hope you learn from my mistake. I love you Santa, my Irish wolfhound.

I feel your pain! We have a wolfhound/bouvier cross and the hair!!!! OMG so much hair. If i don't brush him once a day he's a knotted mess the next day and you'd think I never brushed him. We have to do a clip this weekend because with the rain he's a knotted now. Ugh. Glad your baby's fine.

Thank you! 🫶 Everyone has been telling me that it's just a "puppy coat, and it will go away" - well, it never did 🤭 Also, maybe it will be helpful: the best brush for us has been the "undercoat rake"! It really helps with mats and just gets so much hair out! You shouldn't use it too often, but once every two weeks is good! 🫶

This is a long hair, hair should be wiry like a stiff brush, but due to the breeding program by captain Graham when he tried to revive the breed, we ended up with soft coated dogs. Best thing for trimming the mats out are "lady shave" trimmers, once they get used to the buzzing 😅 work your way slowly into the matted hair. I found working downwards best.
