I just purchased the Deebot N8+ from Best Buy for $599 (Not the Pro). I love it. When I first sent it out I hadn't vacuumed in like two or three weeks and had lots of dirt and pet hair. It got so full of pet hair that when it went back to empty it errored on me and I had to empty it by hand. It's the only time it errored on me since having it. I run it once a day now and it doesn't get full like that. Mine also came with a clear plastic ramp that it says you are supposed to add to the charging base if placed on carpet to help it get up onto the base, which looks like yours was having issues getting up on it. Mine is on hardwood floors so it doesn't have issues getting up there. I love the lidar on these vacuums and the battery life is great too. The reason I purchased the deebot instead of the irobot was for the mop and the lidar system. I have run the mop once so far and even though it doesn't get the tough caked on dirt it helps keep my floors looking nice. I really enjoy watching your comparison videos between the different robots, keep it up. Not sure if you have the Deebot N8+ but I would love to see the stress test on it and how it compares to the iRobot i7+. I'm sure it won't be able to empty itself either after the first go lol. The other thing with these bots is the app. I am having major issues with separating the rooms on the map. It won't let me divide certain areas and keeps telling me that I can only divide in the selected area. Apparently this is a common issue. Hope they fix that.

I think those jelly beans at the foot of the base were affecting the contact between the robot and ejection ports of the auto empty bin.

Love this robot! Does a good job cleaning, the lidar navigation is very good, and the auto-empty bin gets pretty much all of the debris out with every run. Got it at Best Buy on a $449 Black Friday sale. Planning on getting one for Black Friday again as a present to my mom... unless the N8+ turns out to be an excellent robot. May just give her the T8 and upgrade LOL.

I was looking at the Shark IQ self empty for a while, but found your channel and just got this instead w/o the bin for $467. I know it's been lower, but compared to other robots at that price and after watching your reviews, I'm satisfied.
@clay2823 жыл бұрын
Here’s why I think you get results that are negative and viewers have them and love them. I think the person that would have any mess vaguely close to the stress test is a hog in a trough and they buy $40 junk vacuums. Us robot vac folks spent the $ and don’t have floors that are ever really dirty... hence buying something that we can have clean our homes multiple days a week. My robot has a much smaller bin and it never gets filled doing my whole house. Personally, I would hard reset the machine to clear glitches after the update, send it again and it would make me very happy.

I have T9 now and had Roomba S9+ before this. When comes to cleaning carpet, S9 hands down is the best. Only if iRobot come up with LiDAR navigation and a good battery life, I will buy it again.

These stress test are kind of fun to watch, but I would like to see more real world test. It would be more helpful to see robot vacuum test done where there are dogs or cats in the house to see how well these robot vacuums deal with that.
@nickloss3 жыл бұрын
It couldn't get up the dock because of debris right where the wheels roll. As far as the auto empty, I knew it wasn't gonna work well. The dual empty holes are quite small compared to one larger hole and chips or larger debris will pile up over top and plug it. It's even more an issue with pet hair, the dual holes basically pulls the hair across both holes and doesn't empty. I have to run mine 3 times a day for it to be able to empty all the dog hair, although my dog sheds more than any animal I've ever seen. Overall though I do love my Deebot T8+, it does a very good job cleaning and never gets hair tangled in the brush. It's just a shame the auto empty feature wasn't designed better, I have a feeling it has to do with irobot patents.

Hi, i have this same problem with my T8+ and i have tried everything.. bin is on the wooden floor and it started to do this after 2 weeks. I have change bin place, re-install and cleand everything and it didnt help with this problem. Sometimes robot gets to dock, but too many times i need to help it like almost everytime.. have you find solution this?
@hansielategan9693 жыл бұрын
Like stated below, I think the right wheels got stuck on the jelly beans at the dock that just kept rolling and the wheels lost traction. I am overall a little disappointed as I rate this robot pretty high. The full bin was always going to be an issue, but I did expect it to suck it out as in the less debris test, it is better than most. I am. however, more disappointed in the cleaning part. There were - for me - just way too much debris left after the second run for a high-end robot. Unfortunately this robot has dropped below the iRoombas and Roborocks now. Maybe a software glitch with the update? Thanks for the vid Adam.
@katieh2003 жыл бұрын
I think it was the jelly beans that caused the emptying issuses and the robot getting back on the port there was jelly beans where it was trying to get back on , but other than that it’s a great vacuum cleaner 👍😉

I think Ecovacs suggest putting the dock on hardwood floor rather than carpet. That may be why it has issues climbing the ramp?

I just picked it up at BB @ $449 yesterday, with price match and a Black Friday price match guarantee. But I was very tempted to go with the newest Shark you just tested with lidar. I did watch a video where someone did a mega test on a Deebot don't remember which one I've been watching a ton of these videos trying to decide which to get :) But they spilt the room into like 5 sections than scheduled a job for each, so it would auto empty after each scheduled job. Granted not the best solution, but If under normal use it was separated by room for the schedule it can auto dump the dust bin after each room. That way it shouldn't Max out the dust bin and wouldn't fail the auto empty.

I have this bot and I also have the Roomba J7 Plus, I would recommend the T8 over the Roomba, hands down, better navigation, more cleaning power, longer battery life. In the newer Ecovacs Deebot models including the X1 Plus and T10 Plus, there is a setting in the app that allows you to indicate that the robot should go back and empty itself every 10 minutes, 20 minutes, or 25 minutes, or just empty when it's done. I'm assuming the X1 Omni also has this feature but I don't have that model to test it.

@kinglord54293 жыл бұрын
Canon printers shine a light across their ink tanks to tell when empty maybe they can use something like that, don't think it would impinge on irobots patent. Not fair test, put obstacles out their that roomba just fits under so we can see if that little dome gets knocked off. i can still see this charging over a room fly under a table and knock that dome off.
@bryanheald69673 жыл бұрын
Hell if someone is willing to pay the Current price of $699.99 at best buy and still want the T8 over a roomba then amazon and costco sell the T8 AIVI with the self empty bin included for just over $800, $849 i believe costco has it for. Now for it not being able to get on the base I think that is a software issue because mine did this once only after its last update. To correct a previous statement I made in my other comment, ecovacs does infact now sell the bags for the self empty bin on amazon with next day shipping ( at least in the Tampa Bay area for next day shipping). I did see a generic of course reusable one for about 20 either on amazon or ebay. I doubt its any good but it sure does make you wonder. But as for new robots to test i had a few ideas. One would be something from the 360 line. Like the 360 S9 which I find to be somewhat unique in a way because like a lot of two in one robot that can hold the dust bin and water tank at the same time, this one is a top loading robot with both a spot for the water tank and dust bin at once under the hood and it has good reviews. Sells for $529.99 on sale on amazon for $399.99. Also would be cool to test one of these cheap but decently rated lidar robots from these brands nobody has ever heard of before and usually range on average between $200-$300. I recently found an irobot scooba on ebay that I had no idea even existed. Its the scooba 230, found it cheap surprisingly and the little sucker is VERY tiny, only about 6 inches diameter. It's funny as hell to watch it go but it does an OK job for small areas. I'd say its the scooba equivalent to the braava 240. It doesn't have a spinning brush like the regular scooba but does have a removable plate underneath of it that has squeegies and one or two rows of brushes, have to look up if it vibrates or something or just get pushed across the floor, but it foes have a spot to put clean water and a spot to empty the dirty. There is this thick rubber bladder inside you can see from the dirty water side that the clean water goes into. But I promise this is the last novel of a comment that ill put for this video lol.

it's pretty well known that Deebot's autoempty is pretty shiiit and only for light duty. The issue is likely the two smaller hole design instead of one large hole. Debris can easily create a seal over the small holes, and it doesnt work with a bin filled with pet hair.
