Still sophisticated threats also need sophisticated supply chains and lunchpads, and that's more vulnerable to israeli recon and intel. Still there is the point that Israel might have a reputation fro being pretty sophisticated, but for a time now has been outmatched by systems of Iran, making the security of the state relyant on nuclear deterance and hopefull belive in no one going to escalate that ... like ... what BB did recently. For everyone who says that it is all US tax payer money, it isn't. The US produces the missiles for the system (and began using it as well) so Israel either buys it or gets it as part of the aid from the US. The aid from the US doesn't come as money but in form of weapons that worth X money which is equivalent for less than 10% of the current defense budget of Israel. Not only Israel gets aid from the US but so does Jordan, Egypt, NATO countries and more. And this aid actually produces tens of thousands of jobs for the Americans, a thing which actually contributes to the American economy.

All y'all are wrong here lol The US is a currency sovereign; we can issue funds for both taking care of people and establishing our national defense, just like we currently do with the defense budget every year: 1) Set a spending goal, 2) issue funds, 3) manage inflation thru the following year's taxes. That's what we already do, but most of us are stuck thinking in a family budget format where the money comes first. Government just needs to keep the currency flowing instead of getting stuck in one place. Not really. The iron dome is only really good against short range rockets. And can only cover a relatively small area. Good for Israel who needs to protect its densely populated land but not so much for Ukraine who needs to protect a vast area against a variety of threats of which short range rockets are a small part.
