I had an Iron Heart x Bilt SImmons jacket that I ended up selling for similar reasons. It was awkwardly sized with the shoulders and chest being a bit too tight, but also lacked taper so it was boxy around the waist. I ended up commisioning a custom one from Dave Himel since I have a 14" drop from chest to waist and wanted something that fit better. He basically told me that the way Iron Heart cuts leather jackets isn't right - they cut them like trucker jackets which leads to awkward sizing and very limited mobility (makes sense given they make so many denim trucker jackets). The ones you showed from Double Helix and Aero are cut/patterned much better since those companies specialize in leather. There's something beyond the measurements alone, leather jackets need to be cut/patterned a very particular way to fit correctly and allow mobility when wearing.

Birds aren’t real. I wish the darn sizing was consistent I have an size 40 leather jacket that fits perfect and a size 48 also fits perfect.

Polyester lining in a leather jacket is more durable than other materials I'd imagined

@@davidallen346 Nylon is going to be the most durable. A nylon-acetate mix will be both durable and fairly luxurious feeling. There are different combos that are just way better than any kind of polyester, but they're significantly more expensive when you're "mass" producing these jackets

​@coinecc I think I seen a few leather jacket with the nylon-acetate lining. It's not a new concept tho. Nylon is a very popular material used for ski puffy down coats and jackets.

Except for fit, the IH's far superior in leather, workmanship, quality. $1300 is pretty cheap considering the going price. So far, IH's my choice with jeans, slacks. It's pricey in return for quality, long term use

I have never come across a brand as bad as Iron Heart is for being able to reliably buy sizes. A size 38 from them is entirely different to another size 38 of theirs. Even the same jacket in different materials I own in different sizes for the same fit. Don't buy unless you can try it on.

Looks cool but I’d buy a vintage Lewis Leathers Monza for less. Plus it’s BLUE 🤔 Has to be black sorry. Just my opinion though.
