Will you be seeing Iron Maiden on this leg of The Future Past Tour? What are your thoughts on Nicko's performance? Let me know below!
@TheCDGuyJZ2 ай бұрын
@CymruCelt01 Completely agree. We should enjoy them while they are still touring, not criticizing them (especially for something that's out of their control like the lasting effects of a stroke).

Saw them last night. Was incredibly fortunate to get "Friends and Family" tickets through a mate who know Adrian Smith and his wife Nathalie. MET STEVE HARRIS!!! He was nice enough to autograph my ticket. Legend. Has a daughter who looks like a mini version of him. The show was great. Great energy. All 6 of them really put in. Crowd went wild when Nicko was throwing his sticks etc into the crowd at the end. Lots of love for him. Brilliant, brilliant show. I'm old school so my highlight was The Trooper but the entire show was excellent.

I totally agree with you about Nicko McBrain, he has been the back bone on Maiden, love his style, he has brought so much to us in the metal industry. Can't wait to see them on Friday 13th Sydney

Fear Of The Dark is going to hit harder on Friday the 13 lol Have a great time! Nicko is the heart of the band… It will be a sad day when he decides to retire

The lack of the very obvious big hits from the early days is worrying. Maiden fans in Oz are really connected to The Number Of The Beast
@TheCDGuyJZ2 ай бұрын
Everyone’s ideal Setlist will differ. I don’t mind the lack of certain hits, personally I’d rather hear deep cuts from Somewhere In Time. I do think Hallowed Be Thy Name should be in the set without question tho
@leokimvideo2 ай бұрын
@@TheCDGuyJZ Kiss had a very interesting setlist over many years. Kiss understood that some songs had to be played at just about every show. And what's sort of funny is no one really ever complained that these songs were cemented into the setlist. Rock And Roll All Night, Detroit Rock City, Black Diamond, Love Gun, Shout It Out Loud, Cold Gin to name a few very stuck in songs. Imagine the outcry if these songs were ignored!
@leokimvideo2 ай бұрын
@@TheCDGuyJZ And a second point that related to playing in Australia, Kiss would add songs that were very popular here to the set list, it was to a point flexible as long as the sync tape was adjusted for Paul Stanley.
@TheCDGuyJZ2 ай бұрын
That’s a good point. I hate the lip syncing thing, but otherwise getting new live versions of Shandi in Australia was pretty cool.

Love some Iron Maiden 🤘🏻🤘🏻 the 80's was on another level for so many of these bands and some still doing tours and making music but the 80's and early 90s were like no other!! At least for bands like Maiden but of course The 90s gave us some great music but when Nirvana came out and everything changed I was still listening and getting my favorites. Late 90s and early 00s had some of the best music from Limp Bizkit Godsmack Linkin Park Papa Roach P.O.D and so on but I have my favorites in every genre!! Eminem Lil'Wayne to oldschool LL RUn DMC NWA Beastie boys Ice T but it's not what I mainly listen to.

They are absolute legends within the entire entertainment industry. Such immense talent all over the stage.

I’m a guitar player, and had a mild stroke several years ago, so I can relate to what Nicko is going through. Playing the guitar was the absolute best form of rehabilitation therapy for me. I still have moments where I freeze or struggle getting my fretting hand to do what I need it to do, but it’s getting better every day.

I was at the show in Perth on Sunday, and it was awesome. I totally agree with what you're saying about Nicko too. His drumming was a bit rough at times, but it didn't matter. Its amazing that he can still play at all, so it was great to see him up there doing it still. Still an awesome live band.

Bruce's vocal were beyond EPIC. I was floored at how well he sounded (BETTER) than last year. The 5 straight songs from senjutsu were a bore. Tossing in something from the more recent albums would have been so much nicer. they never really seemed to get into a groove and everything seemed disjointed, but that wasn't anything about perth - just the setlist and how they perform it.
@TheCDGuyJZ2 ай бұрын
Bruce’s vocals sound great… he’s been keeping his vocals in great condition with his solo shows. I agree that the setlist is a bit disjointed… the order is odd to me. I like the Senjutsu stuff, but I do wish they’d give this much attention to stuff from Book Of Souls or AMOLAD.
@DannStephen2 ай бұрын
Whilst it is one of the best tours they have ever done, I get that some people would like changes to the set list. Personally I have never quite got why CIPWM is there, it sounds out of place to the other songs. Had a beer with Yannick last September, bumped into him in a London hotel and mentioned this song and he said the band thought it worked. Not so many shows this year, only 8 as they involve longer expensive flights. Nicko, he can still play most of the set so if he wants to play, he should.
@TheCDGuyJZ2 ай бұрын
Awesome that you got to hang with Janick! I totally agree that Can I Play With Madness seems out of place. I’d much rather hear Sea Of Madness or Deja Vu, but it’s totally up to what Nicko is comfortable playing.
@Alex-wf4px2 ай бұрын
I don't understand the criticism of Nicko's drumming either. He had a fkn stroke. I'd like to see half of those idiots criticizing him get back up from that, and do what he does. Maiden will keep going until all the wheels come off the bus because that's who they are!
@TheCDGuyJZ2 ай бұрын
Agreed 100%! Maiden are a band who have never tried to hide their age. They’ve been the most consistent live band on the planet for 4 decades... They have nothing else to prove at this point, and neither does Nicko. Most people would never be able to drum again after suffering a stroke, let alone play for Iron Maiden.
@kapamis2 ай бұрын
It must be a torture to put Nicko play Prisoner. Why Steve? Why?
@TheCDGuyJZ2 ай бұрын
I’m sure Nicko would speak up if he couldn’t do it, but if he can’t, they should definitely consider swapping it with something else… Sanctuary is pretty straightforward on drums… I’d love to hear that live again.

@@TheCDGuyJZ I know the guy personally. He needs to hand the reigns to someone that can take over. He’s admitted this many times He’s at a time in his life where he’s got the restaurant and the drum shop and multiple millions. But right now this fame he doesn’t want to let go of and it’s sad to see. I think the rest of the boys can go on but they need someone (I’ll throw myself in there while I’m at it ) to drive the band
