I love this album! The thing about this album I think that doesnt rank as high as TNOTB, Powerslave, SSOASS is that just like Piece of mind (that is also one of my favroites) is that overal doesnt flow as good as the other ones as an album, not that is bad, is just that the others, in particular SSOASS flows perfectly as an album. The 2nd thing, and thats also in the context it came out, the tone is not as raw as the other albums. the more synth guitar tone makes this one a bit less heavy metal. But if you ask me I love this album, and I love each album as their own thing.

I come for that bass solo every time and leave happy every time. So melodic and beautiful. That is what I imagine paradise to sound like.

I will get to hear/see this legendary song and epic solo for the 1st time. I am 38 years old an gave up hoping they would play this song after the "Somewhere back in time" tour in 2009, and now I will get to see Maiden play this song in San Diego 10/04/2024. Up The Irons!

This song has such class, it is so elegantly build up... So much good taste in all its construction. The intro, the pace of the verses, the chorus, the interlude to the solo... The solo, the closing absolutely one of their top songs!

One of the most unforgettable guitar riffs ever. Simple but so effective and beautiful to the ears.
@osamaqtaitat Жыл бұрын
What matters is that it is melodic, emotional, powerful, beautiful, innovative, unique! Simple or not! If it is JUST complicated it doesn’t mean anything! Although maiden do it all simple or not but for the sake of music

This was the first album that I ever bought. £2 at a car boot sale in 1998 with no album cover, just the silver disc with black triangles. Didn't know what I was letting myself in for. Fast forward 17 years and its Still my favourite album to this day. Every time I listen to a track from this album it takes me back to the summer of 1998. Ahh the memories. \m/

+jerrkyd I thought so too! Almost never bought it. Glad that I did. If there is one defining moment in life where you can say "best £2 I've ever spent" it would have to be this. And now I wait with bated breath in anticipation of the new album.
