Ok, here is a list of meanings for every Japanese word that appears on the video. 0:16 王 - Kanji for King, ruler. It is probably referring to the "King" piece in Shogi, a strategy game similar to chess. Shogi is considered "The general's game". 飛車 - Rook, Risha. Probably referring to the "rook" piece in Shogi. It is the most powerful non-promoted piece in the game. A breakdown of the word: 飛 - "fly" 車 - "car" The original meaning of 車 is "War Chariot". 1:01 命 - Fate, destiny. The original reading of this kanji is "To give orders" and it evolved to "Decree, order" and then "Fate, Destiny". There is another reading for it that means "Life, Life force, Life span" but it doesn't fit very well with the context. The use of 命 as a banner probably holds a similar meaning to the concept of "Divine right of kings" from medieval Europe. 2:53 The first part is a bit confusing, and I think it is intentional. This phrase is supposed to mean "The kingdom of..." but the first part is written in Katakana, a writing system used for western words. の王国 means "Kingdom of". The first part almost sounds like Eden (エデン) but the last character indicates that it means Eddie (エディ), . It could be something else because the characters are not completed and both sides are slightly different. It could be a riddle, but I have no idea how to solve it. 5:03 Shogi pieces. The 王 pieces represent the eddies from before and the one in the middle is the promoted rook, called "Dragon King". 竜 means Dragon. As we can see from this, the whole clip is the animated representation of a few moves of Shogi, with the hook and both kings. I know little about Shogi so I can't do a breakdown of the moves or tell if the clips are actually trying to represent a specific play. This is it. The flag from the "Kingdom of Eddie" is not clear enough for me to make sense of it, and it seems to have a snake on it, making the whole name thing even more interesting. EDIT: The flag has the kanji 死 and it means "Death". It has a serpent around it. The ancient form of this kanji depicts a carcass and a person, giving it the meaning "To die". Credit to the comment bellow by @UCixiFbVgoQIGfYYwosf_RWQ for spotting the kanji in question. Thanks! I used the "Outlier" kanji project for original meanings.

@romanborky56963 жыл бұрын
@@NightZ2_ てつだうほんとありがとうございます!!! I appreciate so much for your long response I enjoyed reading every word. I abandoned romaji early on as you said getting away from the "western" mindset is crucial as the senteces and phrases cannot be translated directly to hold the same meaning. All the exercises and word writing I do in hiragana and or katakana and do as much kanji as possible. There are some kanjis I tend to remember quicker and some that I just can't grasp. Basically the ones I wrote down with my own hand stick with me better both the writing pattern and the meanings it has. I'm doing them with the "Basic Kanji Book" it has 500 Kanjis so your basics what needs to be learned. Reading is much faster with furigana So if I want to practice reading I handicap on those whilst slowly eliminating furigana on Kanjis that I "should" already know by now. You are spot on that you ignore the Kanji itself when you use furigana. Also the phone/pc keyboard I use it frequently when writing to people in Japanese like my sensei for example, the automatic Kanji sugguestion is very much useful and I like it, but only with that I would never be able to write the Kanjis with my own hand, which takes away a lot in my opinion. Thanks for the extension sugguestion I will check all of them. It is hard to find a proper Kanji reading or phrase translation. I'm using "Aedict" if you know about it. It is ok for single word translation purposes but you cannot put a whole phrase in there it can't break it down word by word. That is something I miss to be honest to have something to decipher the phrase to understand the way verbs and nouns have been used. Especially when it comes to unformal Japanese when things get shortend or abreviated or used to connect in different ways. It is my 3rd year now of learning, I don't have as much time as I did before for studying but slowly I hope to grasp more and more it is a fascinating language! がんばりましょうね! ロマン

Iron maiden IS NOT Heavy metal, its just rock n roll. Havent been metal since poweslawe. Even i love somewhere in time ans SSOASS. IRON MAIDEN 1980-1988. RIP maiden 19988-20021. Not a good record at all. To many fanboys. I loved them in the 80s thou. I have tried to like all their newest stuff. I have been to 57 maiden shows.. no im finished with that Also. This record is so repetive from their 2000 s, sound. Almost all Songs starts slow in 2 min, the a little uptempo, and fading out again. Iron maiden is hard rock at the most. Even nico mc brain said it in the 90s, that he always has seen maiden as a hardrock band not metal. And its not metal, they are a huge in nwobhm but that genra Also included Def Lepard. The have one og Two good song on each album from blaze are and up to now. IMO not a Great album. Last Great album was the synthrock album Seven Son Of A Seven Son. Just good tracks. I will go to a maiden show again if they only play songs live from 80-88. And skip the overplayed song called fear of the dark.

It's just perfection in it's purest form and I absolutely and fucking love it. Best album of the first 21 years of the 21st century. And I will forever be grateful for my parents to be into 80's music in general with RTL Radio always playing, when I was a kid in the late 90's/ early 2000's, it got me into AC/DC, Metallica, Duran Duran, Iron Maiden, Queen, Toto, Fleetwood Mac, Dio, Genesis etc.. 80's rock and metal was and will always be the best decade off music of all time. And Senjutsu is ofc a new album, with new ideas and sounds of Maiden, but it also have those vibes of a bygone era, when music was made with passion and when this kind of music was the popular thing. Up the Irons forever.

Ouvi a banda em 2000 pela primeira vez por causa de um tio. Em 2001, com 10 anos de idade, fui ao Rock in Rio assistir Iron Maiden e Judas Priest com meus pais. Ano que vem será meu QUARTO Rock in Rio assistindo Iron Maiden! Minha banda favorita desde criança!

What I love about it is the theme. After learning that "Stratego" is a strategy board game, I figured this would be another anti-war song. But uniquely, this is no longer from the soldier's perspective. Rather, from the perspective of the commander feeling the heavy burden of leading the troops into the "eye of the storm" and deciding the fate of the nation ("spills of a crying nation upon my soul"). That's my take.
@emankcin17013 жыл бұрын
@@hydroshock1853 Interesting stuff. I haven't done any research yet because it takes a while for me to open properly let alone figured it out myself, but makes total sense. And yes, quite unique perspective this time around.
@hydroshock18533 жыл бұрын
@@emankcin1701 Just found something else. Stratego comes from the Greek term "strategos," which translates to "military general/leader." So this song really does have the feeling of a general leading an army into the unknown.
