Been a fan of Maiden since I was a kid, 30 years or so. What I'm really liking about the stuff they're doing these days is that they're making songs that demand several listens to really appreciate. They're not just churning out a series of "rock on" moments. Each song has so much going on that you need to listen, and relisten, and relisten again...they're not a "greatest hits" band and they're not just coasting along. UP THE IRONS!
@Fluffykeith3 жыл бұрын
@limelight81 That seems like a very subjective thing though. For me it's gotten better and more interesting with each listen. It's not a song that immediately grabbed me and made me want to riff along with it, but the more I listen to it, the more I can appreciate the layers of it.

I give that a Hell yea! Khorne Approves i guess. :D There are quite a few of those types of songs out there over the centuries, not only from maiden. The literal ART imo is tho, that it can give you a different ... lets call it "vibe" - depending on your current situation. If you listen alone, while driving, while working, while relaxing, or with people on a party or working out doing whatever is also influencing it like your overall current mood. This could propably also be the reason why limelight81 does no like it.
@Fluffykeith3 жыл бұрын
@@ArgelTal_ I totally get what you mean. I’ve noticed that effect a lot from the “recent” Maiden albums (everything from Brace New World onwards is “recent” in my head for some reason). I react differently to this song when I’m driving or walking the pup compared to when I’m painting minis. The songs from A Matter Of Life And Death have a sad vibe for me because I was on anti depressants and had insomnia when it came out.
@juliegogola46473 жыл бұрын
@limelight81 I have NOT heard ANY "Country vibes" in this song. And, I am in the USA, and COUNTRY music is VERY popular here, and I DESPISE it. SOME "country music" is a form of POP music. It is basically a slowed down version of POP music where they add some twangs here and there, and the vocalist sings it with a certain 'twang" in their voice.

These are all the “symbols” and references I was able to perceive. If anyone thinks I missed any, please add them below: -Man with World Slavery Tour shirt. -Four Eddies on motorcycles resembling the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. -Book of Souls Eddie on rear wing of crashed plane. -Clock with 2 minutes to midnight (or midday?), right before the 4 Eddies go out of scene. -Card with Eddie’s face (behind the scorpion). -Trump look-alike sitting on a vehicle similar to the one in which JFK was killed. -Three faceless British men behind the Trump look-alike, with their unsewn trousers showing the Union Jack on their underwear. -Gravestone with “No Prayer for the Dying” as its epitaph. -Gaddafi look-alike with a sheep doll sitted while being pulled on a giant Chinese dragon-tank with a bomb on its mouth. -Lots of people (migrants?), including children, looking behind the wall/gates guarded by shooters. -Clown with multiple arms entertaining the people inside the palace/oasis, which has a (green lake of?) fire in its center. -Human-looking creature being nurtured by liquid in which Adam and Eve are suspended. -Migrant who crosses the wall/gate being instantly killed. -Eddie becoming a samurai after falling into the fire, turning it blue and turning the human-looking creature into a goat-esque entity (the Beast?), to later nail it into an inverted pentagram with has what each horsemen represents inscripted on it. -The four Eddies are the ones from the albums: Killers, Dance of Death, Somewhere in Time, and Powerslave (?), based on their appearance and what they use to kill the people inside the palace. -Powerslave (?) Eddie spits robotic locusts out of its mouth. -The clown, the Trump look-alike, and the Gadaffi look-alike have their brains blown out. -Samurai Eddie releases Adam and Eve. -Car with American flags has “Pres 1” on its plate and “666” in Roman numbers on its side. -Adam and Eve eat the apple Samurai Eddie hands them as they ride away from the exploding background.

That solo brought me back into the 80’s, and not in a ‘oh they’re trying and it kinda sounds like the 80’s’ kind of way, but a ‘Wow, it’s actually the 80’s again’ kind of way.

Agreed, it sounds like it's from the era of Piece of Mind or Powerslave. I have hopes for Senjutsu; this is only just a taste of it, so I wonder how the others will sound. Lost in a Lost World might be interesting, and the title is almost like Stranger in a Strange Land from Somewhere in Time, my favorite album.

its got a touch of synth, i'm sure Bruce loves that... lol. Seventh Son is one of my favourites.

@@calio99 naw, the masses of everyday people in the world can still throw off their chains, but the poor and more stable poor (the middle class) just need to see the real enemies, which is not each other… “They got the guns, but we got the numbers”, and Jim Morrison might have sung that with a snarl, being much more hippy than yippie, but the sentiment still rings true (and yeah, in America a lot of working and middle class have guns, but they also seem to be confused who’s face should be painted on their practice targets). Is it a long shot for humanity to get the W? Yup, and it’s hard not to be blackpilled given the darkness of the times, but the reality is that the status quo quite literally cannot continue, because our planet’s ecology cannot sustain this level of extraction and pollution, let alone an increase.. Look, right wing, left wing, chicken wing: everyday people are going to have to get over differing cultural affinities, turn off Fox, CNN, OAN, MSNBC, etc, stop listening to the dividing and divisive propaganda, and start thinking about what is in the actual material interest of our children, and their children’s children, 7th child of the 7th, etc… The notion that cultural difference between urban and rural everyday people should erase their material interests is absurd, and a dangerous lie that has, along with a lot of other propaganda meant to divide, been the reason things have been able to get so bad. Sorry, I know that’s a lot, and I don’t wanna talk politics in Iron Maiden comment sections, but this is obviously a political video, and well, this thread and your comment specifically invited it, especially since you went full doomer, so I felt I had to try and pull you back from the edge. I’ve a feeling we probably have very different politics, but again that’s probably largely a matter of media consumption and differing cultural affinities, and it in no way, shape or form erases our shared material interests, and those of our future progeny. Defeating the enemy of this planet, of humanity and basically all life, isn’t going to be easy, but the window hasn’t closed on opportunity, and again, this planet cannot and will not sustain the status quo, so there WILL be a great reckoning, the question is will everyday people, the working classes of the planet, join hands and work together to save it, or will a boot smash our faces into the dirt, forever. (Or at least until the sun expands and vaporizes this planet once and for all.)

@@calio99 January 6th was a bunch of "small business" people being upset about being lumped in with the lower class and pretending they know how to protest, or what it takes to topple a government. They don't want to throw off the chains, they want to hold the reigns.

@@edtExodus are you talking about small businesses being the individual? That ur social Security number is nothing but ur slave identification? Rich democommies like Bezos, tim apple , jaime diamond, George Soros, suckerberg, and all the other big demonrat corporate zombies got u thinking it's the Christian s holding u down, lol. I would agree. And now that 10 trillion dollars have gotten stolen in the last 2 years, you're going to be paying 85% total taxation soon. but look on the bright side. @@calio99 Bezos is the very epitome of liberal economics. That you'd call him a "commie" really speaks volumes about how well you grasp the problem. You think the big money behind the other party is any better? My second ever Iron Maiden concert was on 2022. Curtiba, Brazil. I spent the whole day prior listening to the Senjutsu album so I would be prepared. Holy crap, I remember when they played this one. It was glorious. Actual chills went down as we all sang along and as Bruce encouraged us too finish the sentence “Can you see… THE WRITING ON THE WALL!”. It was glorious.

this is a masterpiece....From the lyrics and composition, to the animation itself - it's truly a masterpiece. I love how the animation combines aesthetic natures from the 80s and 90s with modern animation techniques. I haven't really been keeping up with bands like I should, but it makes me happy to see Iron maiden still gifting us with their music.
