Millie, they have 3 guitarist, and YES you MUST see Maiden live. These old men can still rock and the show is great!
@seanmurphy6376 ай бұрын
At the time of this video they had 2 guitarists.
@caphowdy6666 ай бұрын
They originally had two, Dave Murray and Dennis Stratton. Dennis was replaced by Adrian. Adrian was replaced by Janick, and when Bruce returned Adrian rejoined at the same time, so now they have three guitarists.

They should have stayed with 2 guitarist . When Adrian came back with Bruce in 1999 , they only kept Gers because of friendship . Everyone at the time wanted Murray-Smith again the classic lineup .

Every time one of my hard core metal guitar player friends says “you can’t play metal on a Strat”… Maiden. “Oh, yea” Dickinson is a helluva pilot too, way into warbirds, met him at Osh Kosh a few years back, awesome dude. My first rock concert was Maiden, 15 years old, 1984-ish.

Maidens artwork was done by Derek Riggs for many years. He drew all the Eddies. He's quite an eccentric chap.

Iron maiden somewhere in time came out on September 29th 1986, I believe it was. I was like only 13 years old when my mom bought me the cassette tape for my birthday back then. Thank you for doing the reaction for this and yes, I enjoyed watching the video.

Absolutely perfect guitar solo by the great Adrian Smith!

By far the most under-rated guitarist in metal. I've always said that Maiden really died when Adrian left. He was the blues and soul of Maiden. After he left the band just got so bland. And when he came back with Bruce for 'Brave New World' he brought the balls back to the Iron Maiden guitar sound. Just listen to 'The Wicker Man'. The guitar tones on that song just slay.

When Iron Maiden's manager Rod Smallwood met the band back in 1979, he saw the band's logo onstage which had a silver mask on it - during Maiden's club shows, the mask would drip fake blood... or spew smoke from its mouth. Smallwood asked bassist Steve Harris what the mask was... Harris replied, "Oh, we call it 'the head' " (In his thick British accent, it sounded like 'the Ed'... hence the name, 'Eddie the head') When Iron Maiden were recording their debut album, Smallwood noticed that none of the 5 members were particularly prolific... Steve Harris was a shy bloke... Even Paul Di'Anno (vocals) was a very nice fellow, despite his moments of getting in trouble ... (Years later, Bruce Dickinson called Iron Maiden a "passive" band of personalities w/ Steve Harris being 'passive aggressive') Rod Smallwood decided that Iron Maiden needed a '6th personality' who could do the crazy things the band members could not... He contacted a local artist named Derek Riggs (who was not a metal fan) who showed him his portfolio, mostly sci-fi characters... But in the art collection was a painting of this ghoulish corpse w/ hollow eyes and punk rock hair, standing in the dark street of London... Smallwood liked it immediately. Riggs said the inspiration for painting 'Eddie' came after seeing a morbid photo from the Vietnam war of a shriveled, decapitated head of a soldier on a Vietnamese tank. Smallwood commissioned Derek Riggs to draw 'Eddie the head' in various incarnations from 1980 to 1991... 'Eddie' replaced the silver mask onstage at Iron Maiden concerts and Riggs also hired a roadie to put on an 'Eddie' mask... As Iron Maiden got bigger, the band hired a company to have a guy in stilts emerge onstage as a towering 'Eddie' from 1982 onwards... For their part, Iron Maiden members were relieved that 'Eddie' would be the band's mascot and none of them would have to promote Iron Maiden by themselves. Derek Riggs stopped drawing 'Eddie' after 1991 after falling out w/ Maiden's managers... he got tired of drawing Eddie and wanted to move on... Artist Melvyn Grant took over drawing Eddie from 1992.

The reason the bass is so in your face is basically because it is Steves band. Yes the others contribute, but Steve is the main controlling force in the band so obviously he pushes the bass to the fore. I met him once in Bluewater shopping centre in Kent as he used to visit the West Ham store there. And not sure who was telling you about who draws Eddie. The bulk of the Eddie artwork is done by a guy called Derek Riggs. Adrian wasn't even in the band til the third album, so no way could he have drawn him anyway.

First of all, easy answer to your question: as you could see, this is the official music video (by the way, I love this song! Thanks for reacting to it!), what means that it has been released a long time ago, when Maiden had "only" 2 guitarists: the "notorious" Dave Murray and Adrian Smith. But a couple of years ago one more guitarist joined the band: Janick Gers. Iron Maiden, I don't know if you know, is on tour this year - "The Future Past Tour" - playing songs from 2 of their albums: "Somewhere in time" (such an amazing album, I love it!) and their latest one, "Senjutsu" (2021); so, it seems that, if you're about to choose your next Maiden's song to react to (such a difficult choice!), a logical decision would be doing any song from any of those albums; my suggestions: "Somewhere in time"; "The loneliness of the long distance runner" (such a beautiful guitar solo!); "Alexander the great" (another great guitar solo! For the first time, they've been playing it live throughout the current tour); and, from their latest album, "Hell on Earth" and "The writing on the wall" (this one, the official music video - spoiler alert! - is a 2-D animation feature film - you're gonna like it!). Other great Maiden's songs from other albums that people don't use to react to are: "Revelations"; "The phantom of the opera"; "The clansman"; "The flight of Icarus"; "Murders in the Rue Morgue"; "Killers"; "The prodigal son" and so on and on... Nice Maiden journey for you and...up the irons! 🤘

If your band leader and chief songwriter is the bass player, chances are that the bass will be high up in the mix 😁 Steve Harris (bass) is such a prolific bassist and songwriter... he is largely responsible for Maiden's perseverance and success... 'Wasted years' was written by guitarist Adrian Smith back in 1986 for the album 'Somewhere in time'... Smith was already feeling disillusioned w/ life on the road and he ended up quitting Iron Maiden in 1989 (He rejoined in 1999 w/ Bruce Dickinson) ... Smith never wrote lyrics for Iron Maiden but for the 'Somewhere in time' album, he had 3 songs finished w/ lyrics ready to go ('Wasted years'... 'Stranger in a strange land' ... 'Sea of Madness')

I saw them in 1998 or 1999 in Dallas Texas when Dickinson and Adrian Smith rejoined Maiden because the previous singer, I think his name was Blaze Bailey, sucked. Sony offered them a sweet deal for 2 or 3 albums. When Dickinson left pretty much so did Smith and they hired Janick Geers ( I apologize for my spelling of people's names ). When they got back together they kept the other guitar player and became a 3 guitar band. Pretty slick move. SO UP THE IRONS!!!!

I always wonder that if Bruce had his crap together back in his Metallica days, what would’ve happened if they didn’t leave him behind with bus fare home. Edit: Seen Dickinson twice on Celebrity Jeopardy! And he wiped the floor with the other contestants (don’t remember who they were). He went into the final round crushing them like 18k to like 3 and 4K. It was embarrassing for them. I know they make the questions/answers easier on those shows, but he still showed he’s a pretty damn smart mofo!

Hello. Lovley reaction as always ❤😊👍 I got an idea of what you should do if you feel like it! And that is to react to all Sabaton's songs in all the albums they have! What I mean is to go all in with Sabaton, Even if it will take time as you react to other music too!😊 But it makes absolutely nothing if it will take time if you decide to do this journey! I am sure you would have loved it and not regretted it! 😉 I want to recommend songs to you!😎 You can skip the ones you have already reacted to if you want! The valley of death Dreadnought Soldier of heaven Stormtroopers Steel commanders Kingdom come Defense of Moscow Fields of verdun A ghost in the trenches Great war official video Devil dogs 82nd all the way Seven pillars of wisdom All guns blazing The last battle Shiroyama 7734 Man of war Hearts of iron Killing ground The Carolean's Prayer Long live the king Metal ripper White death Coat of arms The final solution The price of a mile Cliffs of Gallipoli Metal Crüe Nightchild Back in control In the name of god Metal machine Purple heart Wolf pack Remember that it's perfectly okay to show emotions and cry when listening to music in reaction videos, etc. I love your channel ❤️ Sabaton has been my favorite band since they were formed 1999 in Falun here in Sweden!🇸🇪 Warm and kind greetings from a big Sabaton fan in northern Sweden (Västerbotten) 😎🇸🇪🇸🇪😎
@johankarlsson31136 ай бұрын
The songs I suggested are from different albums with Sabaton! You don't have to react to the songs you've already reacted to, Unless you want to of course! You decide! It should be fairly easy to find each album with accompanying songs on either KZbin or Spotify! KZbin should have all the videos for all Sabaton's songs! Animated, official videos etc! If you need help/tips, There are many of us in the comment field who can help you if you need help during this journey 😊 It will be very interesting to see and hear what you think of all their songs! If you do this journey!😊 And then when all the albums are finished, Please tell us which is your favorite album!😊🙏 Sabaton is also working on a new album! 😊 Warm and friendly greetings from Johan and Northern Sweden 😎🇸🇪🇸🇪😎
