Iron Man Mask - Welding Visor - 3d Printed

Here is a short video of the Ironman welding mask I have just made using my 3d printer. I have been working on this on and off for around 6-7 months, The printing alone took around 50 hours, but the end result is brilliant. Link to file I used;

Here you will find detailed assembly instructions and the option to actuate the mask via servos etc.
All in all it has been a great spare time project and no I have a dedicated TIG welding mask.

I printed this helmet like 6 months ago for my son and I cracked a welding mask the other day and thought I might make another, now I'm thinking of reprinting this helmet at a bigger scale like yours! have you thought about auto darkening it?

Cool! I did think about auto darkening but couldn't figure a way to keep the mask looking like like it does and have the auto darkening shade on it, so went with fixed shade instead 😁

It doable to make one with an auto shade but the look of the helmet would change, as you would need the sensor on the outside of the helmet, I did consider it but I wanted the helmet to look as realistic as possible.

You could hide the sensors for the most part, I'm finding issues in finding the right shaped lenses so I don't mess the whole look up

PLA, It has warped a little but that was from storage not from using it

@@pwnagraphik1018 I haven't done any mig with it as I want it to stay looking nice, as long as your head isn't too close to the weld I think it would be OK to be fair, an dif you painted in in some heat reflective paint that would help too
