@@someonewhocommentsonyoutub3779 yeah but I think extremists was too popular. The mcu and marvels avengers (the game) used Tony model 42 look as his model 2. So now almost all of them hold that frame style and look way too similar. Tony had some unique looks added with the fact he's the only character with a functional wardrobe that stayed like that for numerous runs (My second favorite is model 70 Dan slot made a variant that looked pretty badass). Since extremis was so popular they were locked into it and they couldn't approach any of the cooler ideas.

Only reason Marvel made the Iron Man movie was because they sold all the movie rights to their biggest heroes when they went bankrupt in the 90s... they only had scraps that nobody wanted, besides maybe Captain America, but they already tried making a movie of that in the 90s that failed, so they weren’t gonna start their whole movie universe with that. Amazing still how they made the MCU so big with their “B and C-listers”. To answer the question then... most good writers don’t stay on iron man very long... or he gets shitty writers. Nobody really wants to stay on iron man long(well maybe Dan Slott, but he’s already off the book and it was dog shit lol).

I genuinely feel like the main obstacle between Iron man and more popularity is Tony Stark. I've never wanted to like a character but been unable to like I have with Tony. It has obvious problems but I found even Infamous Iron Man way more interesting than anything Tony has done other than give Peter Parker a cool suit and die. He's super rich and affluent so I would assume he has some inner conflict but I have no idea what that is.

I started to collect Iron Man during the Force arc and Armor Wars. I havent read it in many years but its really funny to hear it told as an adult. Fooling Nick Fury with the old "what is this"? is too funny. Also the epilogue issue is amazing due to the BWS arc.

I am really hoping the upcoming _Armor Wars_ Disney+ series will be awesome. Sure, MCU Tony Stark is dead... but the story could easily work with Rhodes/ *War Machine* in the lead, taking out people that are using Tony's tech. Also, side note: In the MCU, Rhodie should just become the new Iron Man, right? Like... Keep the bulkiness of his War Machine Armor, and FOR SURE keep the shoulder mounted mini gun... But put some red paint on the suit, keep the silver, no gold needed- both as a cool homage to the Silver Centurion look AND as a very easy way to make him visually different from the Tony Stark Iron Man.... I'm not crazy, right? In a world where Sam Wilson is Captain America, Jane Foster is Thor, and God knows who the new Black Panther is(please, please let it be Eric Killmonger!)- I want to see James Rhodes take on the mantle of Iron Man.
