I liked the bodyguard cover. Stark gets attacked, Iron Man shows up and you assume he got Stark to safety. Stark also used LMDs pretty early on so he and Iron Man could be in the same place at the same time. Being a Stark employee explained where the tech came from and it also added a neat dynamic where the characters would react to Iron Man differently than they would Stark. He was a co-worker so they'd say things they weren't comfortable saying to Tony. It was kind of like super hero undercover boss. As someone who grew up with that character I really miss it sometimes.

Yep, both Iron Man and Batman's bodyguard/gear supplier covers make perfect sense. They're billionaires, why would anyone even consider they're fucking around fighting Jokers and Mandarins anyway? Especially when they can have stand-ins/LMDs/empty armors to dispel any suspicions easily.

I feel Iron Man vs. Dr. Doom was long overdue, but worth watching for! The only time they previously fought was in Super Villain Team-up #9, and briefly in the Crossover Issue Avengers #s 154-155. I remember in SVTU #9, Doom defeated Iron Man, since Iron Man was in a weakened condition. I always wanted to see them both in a battle to the finish!

I was more hoping they'd thanos him end credits reveal then build up to it Doom is that level of villain but I do concede that the movies are treating these guys as expendable. Truthfully I'm not a fan of the fantastic four or Galactus Everytime he's defeated it feels contrived to me. I'd prefer the shiar to skrulls. Saying that I'm more DC then marvel well researched in both but personal preference etc

Tony's retconned love of Arthurian stuff predates Bendis. As far back as the horrible crossing event where he has something codenamed Siege Perilous and even before that he starts using tons of Arthurian inspired names for things.

I have the whole Rhodes being Iron Man run. It's really interesting. Rhodes eventually went crazy, and Tony had to take him out and become Iron Man again. And Stane died in that run as well. Great stuff
