This is what is missing. 80% of what you find on wrestling on KZbin is standing wrestling. Not enough is given to mat wrestling. Standing is important, obviously, but good wrestling is mat wrestling.

@ironfaithwrestling bro, I subscribe and get notifications AND share your videos with many of my jiu-jitsu students. I actually have a pretty cool story about wrestling. I had years of wrestling but at a school in northern Minnesota that was known for its hockey, but took 5 schools to make 1 wrestling team. By 2000, it had only produced 1 state champ, a senior @ 103lbs. Later, I was fighting in MMA, and met 2 guys who changed my life martial arts life. Jack Thompson, all American NDSU, and Jevgenijs Minajevs. Eastern European freestyle champion from Latvia. I went from a guy who no one really knew I wrestled, to being able to keep up with any of the guys on the Augsburg wrestling, the top D3 program in the nation. At 42 years old, I've had guys ask me what college I wrestled at, and I just laugh. But tell them it's never too late to become a proficient wrestler for both mma or jiu-jitsu. And no blackbelt, age factored in, should be getting smashed on their feet from the average varsity level wrestler.
