Hey everyone! I apologize for the horrible contrast with the white filament. I buy about 90% of my filament in white and all I had on hand was a little bit of grey. I will be sure to give you guys a much better prepared video in my next one. You should have seen how many shots I had to take with different cameras just to get you guys what is in the video. Again my mistake, I am still learning on all of this and totally take the blame!

NP! I am loving your videos btw. I feel well prepared for when my first P1S arives tomorrow! I am upgrading from an EnderV2, so I guess I am in for a treat. Would love to see you experiment more with the ironing. (With black filament of course 😉)

You're welcome. Apologies for the use of white filament. I plan on doing a follow-up video to fix my mistake with this. Glad to have you aboard!
@koifish1le9963 ай бұрын
Why not use a black/dark filament? White is commonly known to be among the best for hiding layer lines and imperfections due to low contrast. Black filament would almost certainly be a better fit for tests like this.
@bambamprint3 ай бұрын
@@koifish1le996 I completely agree with you. Unfortunately all I had was white and a little bit of dark grey. I apologize for the bad contrast and I should have spray painted the filament to make up for this. My next video on ironing or anything to do with quality I will be sure to have black on hand.

Looking forward to a more detailed Video explaining the settings! Hope its still on your list I had Problems with ironing when there was only a thin Text on the top surfaces. Somehow it got it all squished and unreadable
@bambamprintАй бұрын
Yes it is still on my list but I am running very behind at the moment. I have been on vacation then caught COVID so I am trying to recover and get back into more editing. I have 3 videos that I am working on currently. If you haven't already I would like to invite you to sub my channel so you don't miss out on any of my upcoming videos! Hope your day has been awesome!

Seems like in general, Rectilinear is the way to go. Great video, I learned something new!
@bambamprint3 ай бұрын
Ya I agree with that. I feel the least amount of directional changes in ironing the better. Rectilinear ironing gives you the best option for this. It was definitely an eye opener to see the results first hand and compare them.

🤘BITCHIN🤘Always great content here, Thankyou. A small warp can mess up the top layers, so i use a brim or mouse ears to hold it close, also most of the time when i use ironing i print one whole model at a time. I do these when perfection REALLY matters👍

You are absolutely right. Great tips I will make a note and include on my next video.
@TheBraini8626 күн бұрын
Cool explanation for newbies. What I am struggling is: when there are letters (in another color!) on top of a flat surface, the flat surface is being ironed with the contour of the letters. That is messing the ironing up totally. Why is the flat surface just not ironed completely? and then on top the letters with other Filament color should be printed. Have no idea how to get this done in orcaslicer. Would also help to not jump around many times. Ironing should be without hops around the surface...

Amazing results; appreciate the demo and mini guide. I happen to notice it was done on the X model of the printer; I may have not noticed, but can't be done with A1 mini?
@bambamprint3 ай бұрын
Everything in this video can be done in the A1.

Hi, Could the last test have been affected by the color switch? The difference was unexpectedly significant compared to the third batch.
@bambamprint3 ай бұрын
I had thought the same thing so I went ahead and printed the entire logo in white and it yielded the exact same issues.
@mikekiske3 ай бұрын
@@bambamprint Oh, really? That's too bad. I suppose other settings like layer height and layer width might be more effective. The overall speed might also make a difference. I'm looking forward to the next experiments. Thanks.

Try using an actual iron. Use low heat with wax paper. Might work?

@@TheHanutaXD haha you know after I published the video I remembered on my variable layer height video I spray painted the prints with a matte black so that it would show up better.
