That's what you'll be remembered for. When my father passed away, I remember bumping into people all the time who would say, "he was a good man." You've had some very major accomplishments in your career, and, more importantly, you have developed amazing character. I was far more inspired by your 5th place finish at Kona recently then I was by any of the record breaking times that were in front of you. Sure, your inspiring character doesn't always pay the bills. But there are things in life of greater value than paying the bills, and you've achieved those things. Whatever bad position you finished at Ironman Israel does not change your legacy or who you are one bit. You will forever be remembered among the greats and be an inspiration.

a great honor to see you race and kickoff your farewell tour in israel. these were tough conditions. you ll probably wont podium all races next year, its a diff sport these days but go and give them hell. you had a great kona, patrick was dissappointed. this time its the other way around, ce la vie. will still watch your races next year.

Hey Sebi, there is great quote in storytelling: 'Heros ask questions and villains arguments'. And - no doubt you are a hero. It's maybe time to see the change not only coming - it's time to make a new chance (ask questions) about it. Traveling around the world is always great (enjoy!), but it's also a chance to bring the shine of your personality and of our sport to the people. So the simple new idea and perspective could / or should? / be, to tell more about your own story on your way through this long goodbye. It's not about you or your family alone, not about winning, loosing or failing, like in the past - it's all about US and OUR passion for the sport. I think there can't be someone better than you to do the job. All the best!

Everyone knows how it feels to be disappointed with themselves. It's natural and a part of life. Part of the 'process' is to find joy, to have special moments and to be aware of how fortunate one is. This is just one race. No accidents, No injuries. A healthy body. A waiting family. A coming year of celebrating your sport. Seems pretty good to me.

Why not swim 3x a day and get a German oly swimmer as a coach? Run 5x week, one hr runs only. Cycle 3x week, 2 hrs only.
