Don't be sad that she has trouble with it, be happy that she is gaining her ability to sing again, and finally able to enjoy the thing she loves so much.

My childhood friend is an opera singer. He was really shy about his voice and it wasn't until we were almost in college that I heard his voice for the first time. He's normally a goofy, fairly flamboyant guy. When he sings though, his voice becomes so powerful and strong. Its like he completely transforms. I feel like the same thing happens when Mouse uses her opera voice.
@iannordin5250
@iannordin5250 2 жыл бұрын
Mouse is a classically trained opera singer, and one of the things you're trained in is to achieve a very specific type of vocal range, for tenors this usually involves being able to really drop into their low range and "sing from the gut" so to speak. One of the reasons opera is so respected is because this type of singing is very taxing. Just listen to the rare video of Pavarotti speaking normally, the difference between his normal tone and his "opera mode" is incredible.
@skvkingdom
@skvkingdom 3 жыл бұрын
Coming from a choir background, this absolutely breaks my heart. I've not only met a few well known opera singers, but I've had the wonderful opportunity to sing with them too. And I can honestly say that mouse could easily contend, if not trump the ones I've met. She has such an astounding voice, and it's a damn shame that it has to be held back by her CVID. I hope to see a day where she can let loose, and sing to her hearts content, unhindered.

I used to not get how people could be moved to tears by opera. Knowing that Ironmouse lost her voice completely for an entire year and is still fighting to gain back her old singing voice, there is an absolute poetic beauty in her belting out nearly four solid minutes of operatic performance before dropping into her natural singing voice for the final line she could manage- "Now, remembering is all that I can do."

@mrmxypltk

From what I understand, its more about her medical condition limiting it, than her needing to develop the skill more. She was trained in opera singing at one point, but thanks to her condition, it takes a lot out of her. She has been doing much better recently though. It wasn't that long ago that she couldn't really use the opera voice at all. All we can do is hope she continues to get better, and keep supporting her.

She's actually so in tune, even if she coughs or get interrupted you can clearly hear her get right back into like an on/off switch with impeccable timing as if the performance hasn't stopped, her musical ear is clearly unbroken and I'm amazed at how she can switch back so easily. I don't think I've ever been able to do that even when I'm in optimal condition and mentally preparing my ears for a performance. It's extremely difficult to just switch on a musical mind and have the exact control so you nail whatever emotional moment that the music calls for and I can't believe that she's able to do it flawlessly even with interruptions.

I really admire ironmouse a lot, where regardless of her physical situation she managed to sing "when i look at you" with the opera voice flawlessly even when it seemed she wasn't able to continue to sing anymore. Please go and support her even just by following her streamings, she deserves it.

That crescendo at the end where she eventually has to swap back to her normal voice brings tears, man. Just because there's clear beauty to her voice + having life circumstances that have prevented her from being able to realise it in the way she may have liked + the line "now remembering is all that I can do". Bless you, Mouse - glad you've found your way regardless of the challenges you've faced.

Coming back to this video and comparing it to her 5 year stream shows just how much control of her body she has gained and how much she has healed. We love you Mouse and hope you continue to get better!

When I look at you, what I always see Is the face of someone else who once belonged to me Still I can hear him laugh And even though that melody plays on, he's gone When I look at you, he is standing there I can almost breathe him in like summer in the air Why do you smile his smile? That heaven I'd forgotten eases through, in you If you could look at me once more With all the love you felt before If you and I could disappear into the past And find that love we knew I'd never take my eyes away from you When I look at you, he is touching me I would reach for him, but who can hold a memory? And love isn't everything That moonlight on the bed will melt away, someday Oh, you were once that someone Who I followed like a star Then suddenly you changed, And now I don't know who you are Or could it be that I never really knew you from the start? Did I create a dream? Was he a fantasy? Even a memory is paradise for all the fools like me Now, remembering is all that I can do Because I miss him so, when I look at you

When she’s singing here, it sounds like her personality splits into two, and so the squeaky voice is the gremlin part of her, and then the opera voice is the proper part of her.

My younger sister showed me this video today. I did not think I'd become so emotional from hearing a vtuber sing. She has a lot of talent and I hope to hear more of her in the future. Definitly going to check out her streams. It breaks my heart to now know that she is bedridden and can't perform on stage. I'd love to hear her sing Les Mis one day.
