Been running this kit for about 1.5 years now and absolutely love the ride quality and travel. Just need to get limit straps sooner than later before I stress out a shock and break it. But very pleased with the kit in general! Was very easy to convert my Jeep to JK axles with your long arms.

I'm in the middle of the install on this kit. I have the coil conversion portion done and I'm working on the exhaust right now. Did you re-install your cat when you did the exhaust? Overall this kit gave me 2.5" more of lift over the Deaver leaf springs I had in the rear.

Installing this kit now on my 92 XJ. Everything is going as planned and these guys gave me some good tips over the phone when it came to the coil springs placement that worked beautifully, thanks Travis. I'm currently working on the exhaust kit and my 92 has a cat that I'd like to incorporate into the exhaust, which LOOKS LIKE it would require welding the cat up AFTER the 4-link crossmember due to clearances. But I don't see a cat being used in your XJ exhaust routing picture. I'm wondering if that cat you show in your TJ long arm exhaust video is smaller than the cat I have, which is a MagnaFlow Exhaust Products 339229 Direct Fit California Catalytic Converter. This cat has a flange on it that bolts to the cross pipe assembly of the XJ, which looks like will require me to cut the flange off the cat and weld up pipe to the flange and then again to the cat to make this work. Any chance you guys will have your XJ exhaust video or instructions up soon? The XJ long arm exhaust kit you sell looks like it was designed w/o a catalytic converter in mind.

@stevenhunt66 Thanks for the compliment! You can certainly incorporate a cat into our 4-link exhaust for the XJ. We should be onto the XJ 4-link exhaust video very soon. The cat will have to be repositioned from its original spot because in will interfere with the rear 4-link crossmember location. Once the rear crossmember is in place it will be easier to position your cat. Take a look at the attached instructions below. You can see a small cat positioned between the front and rear crossmembers. www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2/I9117%20-%20XJ%206.5%20inch%20ROCK-LINK%20PRO.pdf As you already know, we will be glad to help you over the phone 952-210-7185 or you can send us some pictures via email: contactus@ironrockoffroad.com, tech@ironrockoffroad.com

How much stretch can you get from mounting this kit? Can you just mount the cross member further back to get more? I'm aware the gas tank will be an issue with alot of stretch. Just curious about the adjustability of the kit
@IronRockOffRoad
@IronRockOffRoad 2 ай бұрын
@fbik2009 You can get about 3" of stretch with our 4-link kit. We build a lot of adjustability into the threaded male ends in all our kits for anyone who wants to stretch or for extra adjustability in an axle swap. If 3" of stretch isn't enough, we do offer to make custom length arms for our kits. Since we manufacture everything we sell, we can do just about anything you could want. All the standard kits are ready to ship out the same or next business day, custom arms would be built-to-order, approximately a 3 week lead time depending on if you want them powder coated. I wouldn't recommend moving the crossmember rearward because the rear driveshaft needs clearance when the axle droops.

Does it sit lower with the 4 link? What about the load rating compared to the leaf springs
@IronRockOffRoad
@IronRockOffRoad 2 ай бұрын
@montec3113 The Jeep will sit the same after the 4 link is done. We do offer the 4 link as a part of a complete lift kit also. If you want to upgrade all the suspension and add lift all at once look for our Rock-Link PRO kits on our website. www.ironrockoffroad.com/category/long-arm-lift-kits.html If you already have a lift kit, you can also get the 4 link as a long arm upgrade. www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/xj-rock-link-rear-long-arm-upgrade.html The load rating on the coils we use is a little higher that the leaf springs we use. This has two clear advantages: coil springs typically ride better than leafs so a slightly higher rate is acceptable, the firmer rate gives a little more load capacity for accessories like a bumper, spare tire, skid plates, etc.

I bought and installed this kit a couple weeks ago. I got the whole front and rear RockLink kit, plus a front truss and the 4 link rear exhaust. HOW IN THE HECK DOES THE EXHAUST FIT UP? I have tried this pipe every which way around I can possibly think of.

@TheRealMikeWilly We will be doing a video on the XJ 4-link exhaust in this build series, stay tuned for that. In the meantime, check the instructions for the XJ 8" Rock-Link PRO, we have a picture of the exhaust kit installed at the end of the suspension section. If you need more help, you can always give us a call 9am-6pm central time and talk to a real person. 952-210-7185. We would be glad to help you! Or send us an email at tech@ironrockoffroad.com

What travel length shocks can you use with these? I currently have 12” travel fox shocks and would like to reuse them.
@IronRockOffRoad
@IronRockOffRoad 5 ай бұрын
@jordantrujillo293 The 8" rear long arm lift kit uses 12" travel shocks with a collapsed length of 29.5" eye-to-eye. The new shock position provides a huge amount of articulation as well as moving the lower mount up on the axle to get the shock further out of harm's way. You might need to swap those Fox shocks for some shorter ones.

Can you run the stock fuel tank? What about a CAT converter?
@IronRockOffRoad
@IronRockOffRoad 5 ай бұрын
@ianmikelson4187 Yes, you can run the stock fuel tank with this kit. We have the tank removed for easier filming and because we removed it to do the frame stiffeners and haven't reinstalled it yet. Our 4-Link exhaust kit (product code 13888) will incorporate a catalytic converter and clear all the new suspension components.

@JBarnes917
@JBarnes917 5 ай бұрын
@@atwebb26 you wouldn’t use a carriage bolt, you would use a normal bolt
@IronRockOffRoad
@IronRockOffRoad 5 ай бұрын
@JBarnes917 You could weld the nut and use a hex bolt if you want to. We chose to use a carriage bolt so that the bump stop would have a smoother object to engage rather than a hex bolt with sharp corners that could tear the bump stop. Tightening the nut is much easier if you install the shock after the spring. Then the shock isn't blocking your wrench.
