I just had to comment, I'm really liking the looks of this roadster. The dual headlights on each side go together with the tail lights... Brilliant and unique!

I like that this car is a long term project and you are going one step at a time to make it right. So many KZbin projects are bang it out in 2 or 3 episodes, drive it around the block and on to the next one. That can sometimes make those of us with long term projects feel a bit inadequate lol Love this hot rod, my favourite era is late 50s early 60s, and that you’re showing is the long road it takes to actually do them right.

Happy New Year to you all at Iron Trap Garage. This sort of work takes ages to do properly but for me it is just so worth it. I have seen so many cars at shows where they look great until you look more closely and the panel fit and gapping is not good and spoils the car. When it is done right it makes for a really smart looking car. On the boot lid maybe an adjustable rubber bump stop at each bottom corner might help align the boot lid and then help with the latching. I appears on the video that the boot lid does not have much torsional rigidity. I would take as much time as it needs to get that latching just so otherwise it will bug you later.
@IronTrapGarage11 ай бұрын
Agreed I have rubber bumpers sitting in a bag in the car to add in the corners for just that. Great minds think alike 👍

Hi, nice work! those louvers look great but they sure are a pain to finish. on my car I spent many hours of tedious labor to get them acceptable. the license plate would look much better if it's let in about 1 1/2 inch to accommodate a light. Rich
@HarryJensen-b6c9 ай бұрын
Hi Matt, Loved the video but I have a question… I understand how you gapped the outer trunk lid but what about the inner panel? Did you cut through both, weld up the outer panel and then go back and weld the inner? I’m at that place on my 30 Model A Coupe and I’m not quite sure how to proceed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@IronTrapGarage9 ай бұрын
Yes cut through and welded both
@steveclark429111 ай бұрын
Matt did you use wedges on the other side to keep the trunk lid from sliding over ?

Yes that’s correct

Love these videos. When you said that you're going to do some license plate modifications, I was like uh oh. It's probably too late, and I'm not sure what you have planned, but can a car be over customized?
@IronTrapGarage11 ай бұрын
It can be over customized but the license plate mount will be subtle and flow with the rest of the car I think

@danontherun568511 ай бұрын
PS...be sure to NOT put a bad drain in the trunk floor, negative pressure over the trunk lid sucks road dust in. No fenders, no top, its raining hard.... go for a drive... Lol. Seriously though I would have tossed the louvered lid.
