Just an FYI, the Vision card has a map with an eye symbol on the corresponding location of the city where you can steal the Totem.
@stormmario2 ай бұрын
Tom mentions it on the rule overview at 2:46 isnt it?
@velderak14582 ай бұрын
@@stormmario Yes, but then he said one of his criticisms was that you could give away which vision you were going for when you look at the board. The vision cards have both the name and a mini map location if you're trying to avoid giving away information.

Absolutely brilliant game. One of the best duelling games after several plays

One of the most disappointing for me. Not nearly enough tactical and strategic depth. Great artwork though.

Fall is already my favorite season for a variety of reasons, but just now realizing post-Essen releases and reviews is another one I can add to the list.

6:38 for me it has vibes of the Mononoke Hime, with The Iron City vs The God of the Forrest (and all other troops fighting for the nature)

I'd love this as a 3-6 player game. Anything similar that can support larger free-for-all games?

I would be curious to hear Mike's thoughts on the solo modes for this... I found that there was a very deep solo experience to be had, particularly with two separate bots for automating the play styles and win conditions for each of the factions, but that it was hidden under a large number of ambiguities and grammatical/syntactical peculiarities in what are already, by necessity, quite involved solo rulesets.

Does the retail copy come with all those premium pieces and game storage in box?

It does. Only one version of the game regardless if you order from Mindclash, pre-ordered on GameFound, or purchased from your FLGS.

Big fan of the ironclad cookware, not so much them invading woodlands.

Ironclad will quit invading if you return them their cookware.

So this is Root and Scythe having a 2 player baby?

Just how far away did Mike move? He used to be in the videos physically, then he was involved remotely, and now - I'm guessing it's temporary - he's back in person. I like what he brings, but I'm not a fan of the newscaster, remote video in these reviews.

I find it funny how Mike always brings up the same gripe about doing stuff that is then undone in "dueling card game" style games. I wonder what has traumatized him so much that he always brings it up, it's clear that it's a specific experience that has made him extra salty lol. I wonder if he was, I don't know...playing some MtG elves deck and was constantly getting Wrath-ed turn 4 or something xD
@thedicetower2 ай бұрын
Hey, a lot of people dislike that in games. I'm not a big fan of it myself. You don't have to have a specific experience, you might just dislike "undo" cards.
@DiegoDeschain2 ай бұрын
@@thedicetower Don't worry, I was not being judgemental or anything, honest to God, I was just being cheeky. Based on how good he is at game reviewing, I doubt that the example I used would've been what he's constantly referencing. I mean, board wipes and removal in general are obviously essential to MtG's design, and I wouldn't seriously suggest that he wouldn't know that. I was just genuinely curious to know what specifically happened, what was the game/interaction that rubbed him the wrong way.
