Irpin to Kyiv: Never Ride This Train! 🇺🇦

We went to the city just outside of Kyiv (Kiev) to the town of Irpin. There we heard about a lesser known train that for whatever reason the locals avoid taking. It was strange as it's faster and cheaper than taking a bus, but for whatever reason, locals refuse to take it. In this video, my good friend Bald and Bankrupt and I learn why.

Terrible rule. Lots of guys do this who don't have the balls to be upfront and possibly face rejection. Not saying that's what our beloved Bald was doing, but attractive women experience that kind of spinelessness all the time - you're far more likely to be respected and to appear less threatening if you're just honest and calibrated.

Notice at 8:31 how Bald responded. Even though he speaks Russian and he needed no help, instead of shutting down the conversation with just one "thank you", he asks "Do you speak English?" and then continues to speak to them in English, cause he knows locals try hard to learn it, and even just a little bit of appreciation (10:18) is going to make them happy and thus you can get to know them even better. That, my friends, is called social skills.

As many have commented, Hesburger is Finnish. Here's a quest for you guys if you ever make it to Finland: Come visit the Hesburger in the Hervanta district of Tampere city. Hervanta has kinda "Soviet" vibes and many Russian speakers live in the area too. There's also a shop called Qwik-Pik with products from ex Soviet countries. Downtown there's also a Lenin museum.

Damn, I wish I knew you were in Irpin. It's really a good and beautiful city with clean air and a lot if parks and pretty looking buildings. Now the reason why people are taking marshrutkas is because their stations are closer to their homes, including myself. It's literally 20-30 minutes faster to take a bus to a metro station than walking to the train station. Also, different marshrutkas are going to a different parts of Kyiv, so it's just closer to our destinations. Anyway, hope you liked Irpin :)

@@themishmish101 its not as bad here, it seems like people are mostly split between mcdonalds and hesburger on which one is better theyre both pricey and personally i think hesburger is better, however when i visited estonia and bought hesburger there, it was dry and chewy but cost less so the taste probably goes down with the price i also tried burger king in finland, on a cruise ship and in latvia & all versions of it tasted worse than both mcdonalds & hesburger

By the way there are many roads that take you to Irpin if driving a car, or marshrutka.. 15-20 mins and you are in Kiev… so people prefer cars/ marshrutkas over elektrichka because the time is more valuable. If you live in Irpin and need to be in Kiev for work - definitely taking the marshrutka.

@@johndorian3685 because in Russian they call it Kiev and if you speak Ukrainian it would sound more like Kyiv… same goes for other City names for example German Munich in English, is written and pronounced Munchen in native German language

@@johndorian3685 Because in old days in USSR (and even before in Russian Empire) the official main language was Russian and, for example, on the map you would have all city names written in Russian. So, then they were directly transcribed to English from Russian - Kiev, Lvov, Kharkov, Krivoy Rog etc. But in Ukrainian language they are really pronounced a little bit different - Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Kryvy Rih and so on. Now there is no reasons to keep old direct transcription from Russian to English (like there was on old USSR map written in latin alphabet) and many cities transcribe their native Ukrainian names to English spelling/writing.
