So, I have issues where once I eat something, not even 20 minutes later, I have stomach cramps and active diarrhea. But I have never been diagnosed with IBS or PTSD. But have been prescribed with PTSD medicine for over a year.

My condition is opposite. I've had IBS since I got out of the Army and have been diagnosed major depression due to what IBS has done to my life. Have you seen depression as secondary condition to IBS?

To all y'all trying to prove symptoms take pictures of the bad days and bring an actual jar of pooch to the examiner and say, "Here." Be straightfaced. If you're DSC or Presumptive, which is a form of Direct, you're looking at clocking 30%. If a dumb grunt like me can do it, so can you. Last if you're looking to Secondary, Leah B. has my highest endorsement out of all the practioners out there, bar none.

Question @Leah. I recently filed for the first time for IBS and have recently been diagnosed with GERD. I am thinking about filing a claim for GERD though I don’t have any service connection. Do I file for GERD caused by the NSAIDS I am currently taking for PTSD though I am not yet service-connected for PTSD (claim was placed for the first time as well) or do I simply file for GERD secondary to the medications I am being treated in regards to PTSD. I have had GERD since my service but have self-medicated. I have also been out for 30+ years. Which makes more sense to file my GERD - direct service connection (after 30 years, assume proving it would be rather difficult) or secondary to the PTSD medication though I am not service-connected for my diagnosed combat PTSD. Oh my I am not sure how the filling goes. I know there is a way to put it all down but you would want to talk to a good VSO or another legal professional who can give you the details on how to do that. Best of luck my friend

CAN you have a disability connection for IBS and GERD??? both? ive heard yes and no.
@prestigeveteranmedical2 жыл бұрын
They will typically be combined due to something called pyramiding.

I was misdiagnosed with just indigestion a few months before I was retired. I had all or some of the Sign n symptoms you listed. I was later (after retirement) dx with 2 ulcers and GERDs. However, recently I was awarded 10% for GERDs but they won’t give me credit for the initial dx back in 1995 bc I submitted my claim in march of 2023. Do I have a case to revisit their decision?

Is P TSD secondary to IBS or is ibs secondary to P TSD. I have been diagnosed with IBS and I'm trying to find things that are secondary to IBS But can't find anything. I only find stuff that IBS is secondary too
@prestigeveteranmedical2 жыл бұрын
Hi sir generally speaking IBS is not a know cause of PTSD. PTSD is usually related to a specific trauma. If you would like me to review things with you I would be happy to do so. Please email me at leah@prestigeveteranmctx.com
