The idea that the jury would be already selected, and listening in to a live investigative call, is such a ridiculous idea that I suspect the victims who get scammed, didn't understand that through the scammer's thick accent. Otherwise they'd know the whole thing was a scam, especially if they've ever been called for jury duty themselves.

I wasn't a fan of the way he kept pleading not to be arrested, though. I don't want the scammer to think he really left someone crying and pleading. At least the scambaiter did say those guys were so stupid, but I think the scammer may have hung up by then. Hoax Hotel manages to enrage scammers w/o getting angry himself or calling names. It really bothered me when he said, "You'll be crying for the rest of your life." Of course, he knows it's not true, and that you're not going to be arrested, but I still would have told him that I've reported HIM to his local police (it would be enlightening to hear his response to this), and reported his IP address to his internet provider, and reported him to the IRS and filed a complaint with the Indian Embassy in Washington, etc. Anything to make HIM feel a little paranoid. That isn't rude. That's playing mind games with him. He deserves every second of anxiety he may feel.

It's a dead give-away when some calls you Mr (enter first name here). No American would ever do that, especially a government worker because it's extremely unprofessional. They'll butcher your last name until you correct them or until you tell them to use your first name but they still won't ever say "Mister" (first name). I worked for the IRS. We NEVER called. It's ALWAYS a letter.

I've been doing this for thirty years, My number is listed in the book cause I love screwing with these people. It's so fun to get them angry when they finally realize they have wasted their time. I use to record these conversations on tape, and would play them for my friends wile we sat around getting drunk and high. The best was when I kept this woman on the phone for 25 minutes and got her to listen to why it was ok to be into bestiality and how hot sheep were, But I felt bad for cheating occasionally with a cute chicken . she was SOooo frigging angry and pissed off and arguing with me , but wouldn't hang up.

My thoughts exactly. This would only be an American thing right? Here in Australia I've never had or know anyone who has had this call. We usually get an angry Scotsman shouting into the voicemail. Thats easily ignorable.
