Why was the R142 1 train signed up as to "137 and 242 Sts"?? (To clarify, this is how the signage went: (Repeat forever) Broadway Local, then To 137 St, then 242St)

The SOS [Minion Bay] that a tuff question u have.Well i know the 1 train is not the last stop on 137 street it can only go to 242 street the last stop.mabey the tracks are broken but i don't know about the R142 it just came from the yard buy using the number 2 train as putting the 1 train in it.
