I don't think I would call it perfect :) , but I started in late 2011 when I took my first intro to 3d class. I have been doing 3d since then, Maya and Zbrush, and for a while photoshop for textures. Susbtance Painter wasn't a thing back then and I think I started using it in late 2016.

How did you do the mine cart light? Post effects on an emissive? 🤔
@ChocolateMilkMonster5 жыл бұрын
For something like that I usually just add geometry for where I want the light shafts to be, for this a cylinder around the light. To texture it use a color to transparent gradient with the color of your light shaft. You also add the emissive to both light and light shafts. I hope that makes sense.

How did u bake inside of minecart? I always have to do the explode bake, move it aside with it to bake it properly but it seems that u did not have to do that
@3dextrude2 жыл бұрын
You can use bake by mesh name in Substance this way substance essentially explodes your mesh automatically. The key to have _low and _high for each piece so the names between the low and high match.

Hi, I love your tutorials and I follow them often, I only have one doubt and that is how you can make different atlases of uv's in Maya?, I mean, when I make a room and deploy the uv's I can put them in different uv's (eg: U1V1) and when exporting it to texturize in the substance the bake does it correctly. I'm sorry for the text and thank you for that.

I have a question, how you subdivide in zbrush without losing the shape and still get the smooth in the edges? Your job is great, i learn a lot from your gumroad tutorials!
@bearwolffish5 жыл бұрын
Looks like here he just chamfered the edges, and then chamfered the chamfered edges again (at least for the wheel). You could use the zmodeler brush to crease the edges then subdivide, or you can go to the Geomotry Tab > Creases.. and set the angle at which to crease edges automatically before dividing. Finally there, is that little "smt" (smooth) button next to "Divide". Depending on the geo and what you need from it, you can uncheck that, divide a couple of times, re check it and then divide some more to get a nice effect..

He doesn't need to retopo. He bakes it down onto the low mesh he makes at the start
@bearwolffish5 жыл бұрын
Yea as long as the changes aren't huge you can get a nice bake easily. Retopo is usually done when you start with high res, or you change the low res geo too much.
