I have owned or this vice grip for years. I had no idea it cut bolts and crimped wires. I also didn’t know I could loop wire and was pliers. I was so smart buying this tool, but I was even smarter watching this video, thanks for spending the time to make it for me. You’re better than my husband. He knows nothing.

Same! I've had this thing for a year and I was like, huh I wonder what it means by "Insert Screw This Side". Had no idea it could re-size small bolts!

Very informative. I was wondering though what the other grooves "Insulation Only" and "7mm Auto" are for.

You are cutting that stranded wire on the wrong side of the plier, that why you need to use to the next spot. The other side says STRD, that's the correct side for that kind of wire.

Please elaborate; I’d like to learn. Mine says solid on both sides.
@mustbescud Жыл бұрын
yup mine says solid on both side

That is true for some wire strippers but not this particular one. Both sides are the same shape and markings. Some other strippers also have different markings for stranded or solid wire gauges but as mentioned in the vid, just use the next largest slot for stranded wire vs. solid.

4:22 in doubt, start at the largest hole and just work your way down until you reach the requisite hole. Some are marked stranded and solid with the appropriate gauge size marked. The strippers in the vid, the same one's I have, bizarrely are marked stranded and solid, but only one gauge size; I would say it's the solid gauge sizes as he had to drop a size for the stranded wire🤔
