Depends on the build. This is a good talisman if you often use a weapon skill that deal damage. For other cases it's pretty useless. But many people use such weapon skills, for example RoB requires it

Idk, Blaidd hits pretty hard. Poor guy was doomed from the start. A pawn of the Two Finger's will. And yet he still helped his lady to deny them and destiny itself. Even though it cost him his sanity. At least Alexander wanted to go out fighting. Blaidd didn't have a choice in his madness.

I felt like this when the blacksmith died. He crafted weapons that killed gods and legends for me. He called me Lord for the first and last time, and he helped me become. He stayed faithful till the end. I will always honor him.

All throughout the game, Alexander found himself wanting, always afraid of death. Only when he finally saw a rival did he get over his fear. A warrior to the last, a wish fulfilled.

@delphy2478 tbf, it's pretty easy to miss Ranni's quest if you aren't actively exploring or looking for it. At a minimum you need to go through Carian Manor which is very out of the way, then you need to explore Nostella which isn't mandatory for the main quest.

But this is not the end of the quest. Next you need to bring his insides to the jar kid. The child will eat his entrails and inherit Alexander's strength and will. For a Fromsoft plot, this was a really optimistic outcome. He didn't rot into a pile of mud in a forgotten swamp like the Princess of Oolacile, and he didn't get jumped by rib-spider-centipedes in a sewer trying to help, either. He was on his last legs already, if you talk to him and learn about his injuries and damage to his pot. He got to go out how he wanted, as a warrior fighting a friend.

We witnessed how he march to Radahn with us, fighting with fire giant, bathing in lava like a chad. surviving all the journey like us with that fragile body. He is a true warrior, but in the end he still find his limitations. He want a honorable end of his journey. All we can do to our lovely brother is a one good fight.

The origin of the jar people is still something of a mystery. It's not expressly said where they come from. They have depictions of the Erdtree on their lids however, which makes me think they were originally a kind of automated corpse delivery system. Dead bodies (usually) can't transport themselves to crypts where they can be reabsorbed into the Erdtree roots. So the jars seek out dead bodies and carry them there. Somehow, over time, they became something more than their original purpose. Composite beings born of many souls brought together. Giving life and personality to formerly robotic golems.

God, I felt the same way going into the fight, but I gave Alexander the challenge he wanted. I went with the glass-cannon spellcaster route, though my stats all around were decent up to that point, but that meant I maxed out my spellcasting. He didn't have time to move... And that made it gut-wrentching knowing the power difference between me and him. I honored his last wish, as much as it destroyed me emotionally to do it

It is actually a very good talisman if you rely a lot on your weapon art (for example spamming with the Dark Moon Greatsword) and you combine it with similar buffs.

Every souls game is like that. Solaire of Astora in DS1, Lucatiel of Mirrah in DS2 (my favourite NPC), Siegward of Catarina in DS3. They make the best NPC, our only true friend that wants nothing but to help you. And than they make you kill your friend... Exept Siegward, but it doesnt make it less sad

So on the off chance anyone is curious... Alexander is implied to be in Faram Azula because he tried to temper his body with the Flame of the Giants, and sent there because of the taboo with tampering with it. Sources: when you meet him in Mt. Gelmir, he mentions going to a place that has even stronger fire than the lava around there; and he can be summoned to help against the Fire Giant, meaning he is in the area.

She was trying to harness the power and it was too much for her, it's a classic narrative cliché, Lusat and Azur are examples of successfully harnessing the Primeval Current, and they're legends, that's what Sellen was trying to become, that's why she wanted you to investigate them

Its times like these that make me think Soulsbornering universe is the most deserving of the title grimdark. Yeah 40k is eternal warfare and suffering but theres to many people having fun and being relatively happy. But Soulsbornering is bleak, sad, and heart wrenching. Every game you fight the dying of the light, you for to prevent the end. You either save everyone in a hopeless and miserable way, or doom everyone to a hell in the dark. Most people you meet suffer, whether you help or not. Sometimes leavimg them to their fate is the merciful option as pretty much everything the player does makes the world worse once you learn of the consequences. Take Sif and Artorias from Ds1 as an example. You fight Sif to walk the Abyss. To follow on the Great Artorias's footsteps. You kill the goodest of boys, after a gruelling and heart-rending fight and walk the path of Artorias. In your quest you fight the evils of Oolacile and Manus only to encounter the great hero, his mission incomplete, the fight unfinished, him wounded and corrupted. You killed his dog, then you kill him and take his place, carrying his burden to its end. Onwards to the Dark, you find Sif protected in the Abyss by a shield of light and rescue him. Knowing by then, Artorias had fought Manus and lost, protected his friend before falling. You and Sif go together to finish the fight. You succeed in bringing an end to the Great tale of Artorias, he who defeated the Abyss. Only for his legend to be a lie, made a lie by you, finishing his journey. The first encounter with Sif at Artorias's grave was Sif recognising his 2nd friend who truly rescued him from the dark and realising he must fight you, to protect you and Artorias from the grim cycle of the Ds1 world. Elden has you kill Radahn to allow the Stars to fall. Radahn stops the stars to prevent a lot of bad stuff happening. The man holding up the world, letting its current unhealthy but relatively peaceful life continue as he fights the inevitable rot takes his mind and time slowly destorys his body. Whether the Tarnished seeks to be Consort of the Stars, or burn down the tree. It is the killing of Radahn that dooms ER world to its inevitable demise. Cant imagine a more bleak and demoralising world than a soulsbornering world. 40k at least has Sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. The Orks are having a blast and Humanity isnt the best but not the worst. Everyones got problems in 40k but they're quite exciting and manageable in the grand scheme of things but everything in a Fromsoft universe is sadness on top of misery, wrapped up in agony, drowned in grief then burned in the fires of hopelessness. TLDR: Fromsoft is probaly just as deserving of Grimdark as 40k is

I felt like such ass having to body Alexander. And then to go back to our lil Jar Boy and give him the innards...like damn Miyazaki, just ONE happy ending would be nice here and there bro!
