Aaah the problems of having a custom keyboard (i can't use my custom keyboard with my ps5 but my cheap 10 dollar keyboard works perfectly fine)

Probably some control IC in the board is using a non-standard signaling/key codes that the PS5 doesn't have a library for. Meanwhile the cheap one has the cheapest and most bog standard control circuit in the industry. Kinda like how you can find 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps network devices everywhere, while 2.5 or 5 Gbps devices are barely around or even supported by those higher speeds, defaulting back to 1 Gbps.
