18:9 aspect ratio is a PIECE OF GARBAGE TBH if you're using a device with 19:9, 20:9 & 21:9 aspect ratio. No offense man but 16:9 is still the BEST option for most of us viewers cuz with 16:9 we still have the liberty to zoom the content whenever we feel doing so. I know some may argue that in terms of landscape 18:9 is better to avoid the notch on iPhones and some Android devices but for some modern Android smartphones that uses 19:9/20:9, 18:9 still shows a weird slightly cropped rounded corner (which is not as pretty as a real bezel of a smartphone) and doesn't give you the freedom to zoom and fill the screen instead. And even most devices nowadays with a high resolution cameras for taking videos (like for instance Samsung Galaxy phones, like the one I'm using) still uses 16:9 as their aspect ratio on 8K (7680x4320) , 4K (3840x2160) and 2K (2560x1440) video recording functionalities. So I believe all creators should still support 16:9 aspect ratio for 18:9 is not good enough and we're not yet in the state where we can use 21:9 aspect ratio perfectly particularly on mobile devices where most people watches KZbin videos and other streaming sites more than EVER. #NoHate #JustSaying #Respect.

Honestly I never liked 16:9 either as the lack of height clearly nerves me. Not for gaming, not for content, not for reading or viewing pictures. I know TVs weren't always like this, and there was always some spot for 8:5 to be shown. Seriously though, I would've stuck with 8:5 if I were in their position. Content would make so much more sense in this view and it would mean less looking around, since the bigger the screen, the more you need to look around to see everything. It becomes too much for the eyes to recognize at once.

Yes, it still will. I set my 4K videos as 3840x1920 and it still recognizes it as 4K when uploaded so the same concept should work for 1080p. It's still the required width of 1080p when it's set to 1920 so you are good.

I already made that change quite some time ago. But I like the QuadHD resolution, which is 2560x1440p in the 16:9 aspect ratio. So for the 2:1 aspect ratio, I have been uploading 2880x1440p which seems to work fine and displays as one of the resolutions available in the settings of the video. But you are doing the adjustment differently, retaining the horizontal pixel count instead of retaining the vertical pixel count. If I follow your logic and want to publish QuadHD 2:1 retaining the horizontal pixel count it would be 2560x1280. I wonder which is best therefore for KZbin? I do like the idea of smaller file sizes for sure.

I'm not a beginner, I'm a prebeginner. I KNOW NOTHING. After watching both videos several times it doesn't make sense, but I understand that you say just set my android phone to 8MP(18:9). But I think I understand I won't be shooting exactly what shows up on KZbin? My other choices are 13MP(4.3), 9MP(1.1), 9MP(16:9), 8MP(4:3). Then video quality options are Full HD 1080P, HD 720P, SD 480P, right now I've selected Full HD 1080P. I have a GoPro Hero 7 Black on order, which I have no idea how to use. What settings should I set that up for to go on KZbin.
@CamberFilmSchool4 жыл бұрын
I would just record everything in the normal 16:9 aspect ratio in 1080p or 4K if you have that option. If you want to change something to 18:9, then you would do that in editing. Just know that a small portion of the top and bottom of you video will get cut off when you edit it to a wider aspect ratio.

@@CamberFilmSchool Thanks for that help! Editing is a whole new l language for me. Steep learning curve. Spent weeks just deciding what editing software I think I could learn the easiest, not necessarily which one is the best. I'm learning VSDC. My goal is to make motorcycle touring, camping & maintenance videos. When I open the GoPro 7 Black box do you think I should I use 60FPS? Stay safe and well.
@CamberFilmSchool4 жыл бұрын
I'd go with 24 fps if that's an option or 30 fps if there's no 24 because 24 fps is what looks most natural to people (because that's what we've seen in movies for decades). If you are wanting to have something in slow motion, then use 60 fps and you can slow it down to 24 fps when editing which will make it look like slow motion. If you search my channel for Frame Rates, you'll find some videos explaining that more.

@@CamberFilmSchool 😅 Let me explain. For 18:9 video of a FHD footage, we set 1920×960 in the sequence setting in premiere Pro. Then my question is. What resolution we've to set to get a 19.5:9 aspect video in the sequence setting of premiere Pro? Hope you get me, if you still didn't get my question then leave it no problem brother.
@CamberFilmSchool3 жыл бұрын
That’s what I was talking about earlier when I said 2340x1080 (which is 19.5:9 for 1080p). Because KZbin may not recognize it as FHD if you keep it at 1920x886 because you’re cutting a lot more off of the 1080p vertical resolution. This way using 2340x1080 to get your 19.5:9 aspect ratio it stays the same height of 1080 and you just have to increase the size of your original clip to fill the full amount of the screen. (You figure it out by dividing 1080 by 9 which equals 120 and then multiplying that by 19.5 which is 2340).

Hi Camber! Thanks for the Video :) I was just wondering, when you export a video with this ratio, does KZbin automatically recognize that? Because when I uploaded a video that was exported from Adobe Premiere with 18:9, it still had black bars on the desktop version. Do you know how to fix this? Thank you so much!
@CamberFilmSchool4 жыл бұрын
There will always be black bars if you are watching on a screen that is a different size than 18:9. Since most people watch videos on their smartphones, that's why I like 18:9 because it fills up the entire screen. When I say KZbin recognizes the aspect ratio, I mean that it will allow you to use all the functionalities like end screens on your videos. KZbin will allow you to upload just about any aspect ratio you want to make up.
