I initially ordered a MachE GT when wait times were 4 months. Ford got into a mess with the major sales hold and recall due to the MachE’s main contact melt down. My unit was built and in transit at 6 months, and after a couple more months with no answers,I was done with Ford. I saw the iX 50 and drove it. Immediately cancelled the order with Ford, ordered a BMW iX50, and in 4 more moths I had the iX, and never looking back. Finest automobile I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned many. Love the ride and handling, and luxury of this car. Seriously, I’ve had 364 miles on a full charge in warm weather. 315 mile range is understating its ability.

I bought the BMW i5 M60 sedan, because I prefer the lower center of gravity. It has a much better interior, with light bars and merino sheepskin leather. It’s the best vehicle I have ever owned in my 50+ years of driving.

I have a 2024 IX M60, and I wish I had waited for the 2025 model year, which is already available in Europe and as early as March 2024 in the U.S. The 2025 receives the new M-style steering wheel and dark accents for the interior instead of gold and bronze. Carbon fiber trim for the M60 would have been nice! We do need that trailer hitch and the IX has it, except BMW doesn't provide it for the US market. ?? It is often hard to put the kid's bike in the back. I also wished the range was better. So far, I am very disappointed with the range and the charging time. I hate the fact that BMW and other automakers get away with the "up to" range. What does that mean? I also wished they had the rear window sunshade. All my other BMW SAVs had them. One would think that for a special car like IX they would have one.
