Good morning Tim, this is my golf which was released in Korea in the end of 22. Nice review and all reviews for golfs on your channel is quite attractive for me. Thanks again ❤

I agree, about 300hp in one of these would be a hoot! I test drove an older 2016 that had a different exhaust, cold air intake and a tune from what I could tell... that thing ,which had the dsg tranny, with 2 people, would burn its tires all the way thru 1st, 2nd and partway thru 3rd gear by just stomping on it from a dig.. not using launch control, just opening her up... tidal wave of pin you to the seat torque! For reference, I test drove a manual and dsg 2024 version and they felt nice, good midrange torque, but at no point did either of them have enough power to shred the tires thru the gears under full power... I think the modded one was pushing 300 whp as it was a hell of a difference in thrust compared to 240hp stock 2024

Yes Tim. Nicely presented. Panoramic roof a must on a hot hatch. Expensive VW. Mk8!!! What happens in a few years when the newer Mk’s come out? Where do you find these lovely empty open roads to test drive?

You've missed a key opportunity here.... few weeks ago you had a Focus ST a direct competitor for this car, the Civic Type R ..... definitely should have been some comparisons going on here, Performance, engine sound, 0-60, handling, cabin size, woulda been great to compare everything as people buying one of these or a focus or would like the chance to know the differences.... touhced on them cars so little sadly

Quite hard to compare them without having them in front of me..have to remember some of these cars I’ve had over 2 months ago 😆 and have a backlog of content to get through hence why there’s a video each week…

Imo 245 is good enough for most people who use these cars as daily drivers. Have to factor in fuel efficiency as well and I think what the GTI is able to achieve as far as power/MPGs goes strikes a perfect balance. If 245 isn’t enough then the Golf R is always an option 😅

Very true, however 245HP seems a tad slow at times imo..280 would be the sweet spot similar to the Leon which is also a FWD hatch…

This car makes more than 245 for sure. Maybe round 265. It’s faster than a 280HP Ford Focus ST. Like a lot faster.

@@Mav86asian Yeah the mk8's make 250 to the wheel on a dyno. Crank would probably be in high 2's low 300's. Just destroyed a veloster N which is apparently 275 horsepower in my mk8 gti XD

The problem now is, with the power aspect, you're getting too used to the instant torque of electric cars. 😀

No it’s not. Not even because it’s underpowered, but these chassis have become so capable especially if they have an LSD and improvements in tyre technology and brakes etx. 300 min. Having owned mk5 Ed30 that would go >300 on a stage and deal with I think minimum 300
