Its true, optimizing for anything but purchases is a waste of time and money. You’re better off testing more ad sets and turning off the ones that aren’t getting actions within a certain amount. I turn mine off at $15 on a CBO campaign and it works best when it starts favouring the delivery for the adsets that are delivering the results.

Hey Ben, thanks for the video! What if it's a new account that still not generate any sales & ATC? Should I still optimize for purchase? (I work with a small budget)

Hi Ben, what happens if you don't get a lot of Add to Carts or Purchases? (we're at 10 a week) Do we still go ahead running a conversion Purchase campaign? Or do we need to focus on just driving enough traffic to our e-commerce site first?
@BenHeath2 жыл бұрын
I'd focus on improving the quality of your campaign and your ads - that's the path to making things work :)

@Ben Heath I have a warmup my pixel and have traffic data in my pixel that is giving the low cost per result with good ctr should I create a lookalike for the conversion OR I have 2 ad carts in the traffic campaigns and 2 purchases with my self-marketing should i use lookalike of these? Will the audience keep broader and how much will be the minimum audience?
@BenHeath Жыл бұрын
You need at least 100 people in your source audience for a lookalike, so you won't be able to do that yet. I wouldn't run a traffic campaign to warm up your Pixel though.

I haven't tested this... but i was wondering... could you optimize for add to cart conversions until you were getting lots of add to carts and then switch over to purchase conversions? would that help groom facebook into finding your ideal customer? Or would it just be best to go for purchase conversions right out the gate and let it optimize over time? Just wondering... Your professional opinion would be appreciated. Thanks 💪

Think you jump from one side to the other very quickly. You talk about how smart Facebook is with AI and algorithm etc but then say it is not necessary. But then you say absolutely it is best to have 50, 100,1000 conversions. The truth is, that if you are trying to push conversions without any pixel data or previous conversions, or email lists etc....You will pay a ton of money towards CPC and Impressions using the conversion event as "Purchases". With zero purchases, Facebook is going to have a very hard time trying to out who your customers actually are. Purchases are the most difficult event to optimise for as everyone is going for it right now! Especially if you are in the niche of clothing or beauty products etc.

Hi Ben, we sell products with an average price of $7,000. When we use the "purchases" event, we observe a frequency of 1 in every 3 weeks/month. Would it be more beneficial to switch to "initiate checkouts" to provide the machine learning system with a clearer understanding of the data?

Yes I actually think it would in your situation.

In that scenario I'd probably test both options. Purchases will most likely still win.

Hey Ben. Great stuff. At the Ad Set level, I'm getting an error like this. "Ad set may get zero complete registrations Based on how you've set up your ad set, you might not get any complete registrations. To fix this, consider making changes to your ad set before publishing." I followed your recommendation and had my Web events and Pixel set up accordingly. Should I just ignore this error? What am I doing wrong here? Thanks

It would be good to know the answer to this one. Even if I 5x my budget this error still remains

Good Video! How would you handle all that for a business which has a 150€ CPR and accepts that because CLTV is high enough? I mean is it worth to optimize for something else? Adsets are rarely getting more than 10 conversions per week 🤔

Thanks - I'd test the best options and see which works best.
@Droidzi2 жыл бұрын
great topic - interesting the page views on the FB article has only 22k views though - you'd think more advertises would have helped themselves to this article. Many of my clients are high ticket for small, specialised niches, and would never acheive 50 conversions (if by 'conversions' we mean sales) a week consistently through out the year - they simply don't need that many (even 'add to carts'), nor want that many. In addition, they can tolerate a higher cost per conversion - and FB would be ill-advised to discourage this kind of advertiser.

Hi Ben. Your one advise changed everything. My ads stopped delivering at all for weeks. We were all frustrated and had no clue. In your one video you did mention to go for open targeting and no bullshitting for common products related to home and kitchen. I was using 1% lookalike audience plus website visitors. Even uploaded mailing list with 1000 plus buyers list. They didn’t work. and when I used open targeting, we are getting constant conversions and have brilliant results. Never got this much conversions before. You’re amazing Ben. Cant Thank you enough 🙏

Are you saying that instead of a lookalike audience you left it completely broad? Just United States an Afte 18-65 and nothing else? ). Im about to launch a bigger campaing in hopes to get around 50 conversions and am curious what audience to do as well. New Store so not tons of purchases yet to make a lookalike audience after and so Im not sure if I should do a lookalike or completely broad.
@sharadchhakara4032 жыл бұрын
@@nathanturner8761 Hi Nathan. It all depends on your product. My product is bath towels so its not something niche. Every household requires a bath towel. So open targeting works well for me.
