Ripken passing Gehrig would have “saved” baseball, 2004 World Series, Cubs World Series… then Judggggey

Judge is 200 points ahead of Ohtani in OPS. Let that sink in.

It shows you how great Judge's season has been. Soto and Ohtani are having historic seasons too.

Man I love the MLB, wish others felt the same

More attention on MLB is a negative for fans of MLB. We dont need the game changed like the NFL and NBA did to appeal to people who never liekd the game to begin with. Now defense is illegal in both top-rated leagues.
@FPSJonny2 ай бұрын
I would make the case that MLB actually has changed the most. Pitch clock, runner on 2nd in extras proposed rule for starters now to go 6 innings. I disagree with your point because as the NFL and NBA have passed in popularity they dont need to alter the game as much to chase viewers. If baseball continues to lag behind the other sports this will be the beginning of the changes.

Because those leagues already made huge changes that turned what was a sport into glorified offensive exhibitions. The NFL has added tons of rules to limit the ability of defense to stop offense. Same for the NBA. The rule changes in baseball haven't fundamentally altered the actual gameplay. The pitch clock just speeds up pace of play. The ghost runner, while incredibly stupid, only impacts a game that goes more than 9 innings. Of the three leagues, MLB has made FAR fewer changes to the game than the other two. It isn't even close.

@@snerdterguson i would say the pitch clock and definitely runner on second have fundamentally changed the game. Also minimum of three batters for relievers.

Is Bobby Witt getting the attention he deserves? Way better question
@EN-wu6ov2 ай бұрын
Love me some Bobby Witt on my fantasy baseball team. But Judge is simply overshadowing everybody, literally and figuratively.

MLB has no juice (pun not intended). It's not a hot product.

the game is fine

It’s boring. Most kids have zero interest in the game. Some kids play and follow the sport - but it’s a niche sport for most people under 30.

@@johng.4711 Baseball is still battling the NBA for being the number 2 sport in the US.. In fact attendance before May hit a 7 year high. I think people mistake sports debate shows ignoring baseball for actual fan interest.. MLB is doing great..
