Hey conrad , first of all GREAT VIDEO So im an ACCA student struggling real hard. Like ive failed the easiest paper of acca (BT) in my first attempt and then passed in the second attempt. Now im doing FA and its so damn hard. I feel like this is not for me. I take a lottt of time to study simple stuffs in acca. I always feel like i should quit but the value and potential this course offers is holding me back from quitting. I always wanted to travel the world, and i love the fact how acca is super flexible. But its soo damnn hard. Im wasting a lott of time in these knowledge level papers that my friends passed within just a few months. Im like completely lost. Idk what to do

hey there :), I felt exactly the same in my second and third years of studying. It was super tough like you mentioned and there were times when I just wanted to give up. A thought that helped me a lot was: If other people can do it (my immediate circle of friends and other people I knew) then I can as well. The only way to get good at this is by doing a lot of practice questions, so perhaps try that. But otherwise, I'll always be here cheering you on.

I don’t like having the mindset of “it’s going to be hard”, more like “it’s going to be challenging and worth it”. I am just about to finish my master degree in business administration, finished my bachelor in business as well and did 2 internships at EY (audit company). It was challenging, but that what kept me motivated. Now my goal is to become a consultant and open my consultancy business and my obvious path that I see now is the ACCA qualification. My local Chartered Accountancy course forces me to give either 4 or 8 exams together and the exams only happen once every 6 months. This has me stuck cuz I gotta clear them together (like 2 groups of 4 papers, so 4 papers together) and if I don't clear them all, I fail everything and have to give them again. I'm thinking of moving to ACCA since it'll let me give one exam at a time. Like in my last attempt I cleared 5 out of 8 papers but it doesn't matter since I didn't pass them all. Another reason I wanna move to ACCA is same as you, international opportunities. I don't wanna be stuck in one place forever.

I’m 23 going back to education after doing two business Alevels currently doing another Alevel AAC specific, would you advise going for ACCA once I’m 24 and finished my Alevel qual instead of a regular local accounting course? I also want to travel and move for work
@ConradBrink4 ай бұрын
You mentioning travelling and work - go for ACCA, the faster you start the better :)

hi Conrad i really want your advice i want to pursue acca also i really like the idea of the international opportunities and versatile qualification i will be getting if i do this . i like accounts but sometimes i feel like what if the acca is not for me or what if i find it really difficult? how can i get out of this confusion?
@ConradBrink9 ай бұрын
Hi there :) The only way to get out of the confusion is to actually start. Lots of us have the tendency to overthink. I also thought I wouldn't like it but after a while, I started liking it. Also, what's the worst-case scenario? You can just switch to something else and treat it as an experiment for the time being.

Yes. Although it would be prudent to see what qualifications Canada prefer.

Apply for exemptions for sure! Remember if they give you an exemption at ACCA, they are basically saying “yep, you already know this” so just give yourself more credit :)

I'm definitely going to make a video about this topic because I genuinely believe in 80/20 ' ing everything. So, I try and spend the minimum time on my studying. Usually just an hour a day. Hope this helps.

Go directly for ACCA. Like I said in the video it depends on your circumstances. What I mean by this is that if your country actually recognises you as a chartered accountant if you do ACCA. If they do then go ahead!🤓

See, the USA does not really accept ACCA for some reason. So I would perhaps look at other routes if you are planning to work there in the future! :)
