Important to note that, these are only based on her charged shot alone with no reactions behind it or special artifacts helping it like strayer bonus crit (since it seems these tests were done with wanderers alone ? ). On a real battle situation, basically in the Abyss for exemple, these ranks become vastly different. I'll give a quick ranking of it, going from the 1st strongest to the 4th strongest weapon choice based on team building and all 5 stars at R1, while 4 stars will be at R5. Freeze: Polar Star, Aqua Simulacra, Thundering Pulse and Amos Freeze quick swap: Aqua Simulacra, Polar Star, Thundering Pulse and Mouun's Moon R5 Revelt Melt: Hunter's Path, Aqua Simulacra, Amos Bow and Hamayumi R5 Mono Cryo: Polar Star, Prototype Crescent R5/ Amos Bow==> (If enemy has a weak spot and that you exploit that weak spot Prototype R5 will be the 2nd if Not it's Amos bow will win... In most situations however Amos will win since in actual combat many times you wont have enough time to think of hitting the weak spot,) Aqua simulacra and Thundering pulse Remember these rankings are based on the full combat and the player using all of Ganyu's kit at his disposal (except in melt you wont want to burst with her at all) but in most situations the difference in damage will be almost meaningless and i would recommend to rather just stick with what you have best for her... for exemple, Polar star is very strong but you have to activate all of it's stacks if you want it to surpass Aqua simulacra in freeze teams, in others situations Amos bow might triumph over everyone if you can mantain a high enough range etc etc . And i can't help but say it again, these ranking are based on all of her kit doing damage, not only charged shots, and let's not mention artifacts, blizzard strayer will perform far better in freeze, Wanderer far better in reactions with melt and if not a pure neutral build based on 2 strayers 2 gladi/shimenawa will be a good in both but master of none. Interesting, at the very end of the video, they are ranking the weapons based on the frostflake damage. But if we look at the total damage, taking the actual charge shot into account (which makes up 35-40% of the total charge shots damage makeup) both the Polar Star, and Hamayumi slightly pull ahead. I point this out because its interesting that you dont really need to have Amos for Ganyu to really be strong. I also would like to note that Hamayumi is stronger if they don't use the burst. At least at r5.

It can be better situationally. Prototype is generally better with freeze teams and in situations where you're making head shots. Hanayumi is generally better in melt teams. Ideally you'd want to eventually have both in your inventory so you can swap depending on what team you want to use her on.

But not everyone has Bennett and team buffs also vary in themselves depending on the team member's builds. This video though is a comparison of weapons only so it being without team buffs to see clear differences between weapons. Therefore t's as good as it gets in that sense. Only when it's a weapon that scales on e.g. teams total energy like Mouun's Moon, that relies on having team members - which can be as random as possible though, should they be introduced to a "weapon" comparison.

It doesn't matter what the stats were. Amos' bow will outdamage Aqua regardless of the stats, in a raw cryo hit. Aqua will make Ganyu's damage a bit higher than Amos' but only in a melt team, where the EM ratio decides all the damage, not atk/atk%, so the +80 crit dmg or whatever aqua gives will make those melts higher than Amos.' Amos is the best for freeze comps and every other comp, and the best overall weapon/sniping/exploring. However, it can be gotten from the standard banner randomly, so that's a cause for concern if you want to pull for it. No real need to pull for Amos because there are substitutions, but it's decent on fischl if you don't have a polar star for her.

@@ruthlesshades7869 1:2 crit ratio is the best, regardless of what the numbers say, because of the way crit works in genshin. That said I know a guy who runs a 35/280 Ayaka and it slaps. Normally you want 60-70 crit and 200+crit dmg if you are using a crit value weapon, and 50/100 as a start for other characters. Personally I'd rather run lower crit for 300 crit DMG because bigger #s are sexy, but you are gonna realize very quick you are not going to get 50/300 unless your artifact luck is very insane.. And sometimes other stats outweigh actual crit. In the case of my Hu Tao, I farmed heavily for her and achieved a crit of 70/270, but I had no EM. Right now I run her at 62/218 though with 200 EM and it does WAYYY better DPS. I sacrificed around 500 gold artifacts trying to get witch pieces and I had to give up looking for the perfect sands piece because that's literally 3 months of investment, and I wanted to build other characters instead of locking myself into 1 character. I still vape for 90K or something with Yelan but I know the dmg potential COULD be better

This is for raw damage. For practical fight, I would recommend something like this: - Melt: + Top: amos>aqua>hamayumi r5>hunter path (if you are stacking a lot of em around >500em then hunter path performs just slightly better than amos and aqua). Amos is the best overall, aqua is the best when bennett buff is available, hunter path is the best if you are playing burnmelt with nahida and stack a lot of em, hamayumi is the best for f2p. +Mid: Polar star, Skyward harp, prototype cresent r5, thundering pulse. - Freeze: +Top: Aqua>Skyward harp> Polar star (you can overcap crit with polar star but if you can overcome that, polar star is the strongest of all for freeze) - Mid: Amos, prototype cresent r5, thundering pulse. - Aqua has the most pull value because it's good in both freeze and melt sometimes is the best and can be used on a lot of characters.

Yes, artifacts are lucky, but the same artifacts are used for every weapon (except switching the CRIT rate or DMG circlet). So artifacts change only damage numbers for it to be more juicy, but the ratio(%) between weapons and their potential would be the same even if not using artifacts (of course with some exceptions and EM weapons).

The reason a test for her off field burst dps doesn't exist is because of how inconsistent it is. The number of icicles that hit enemies is realistically going to vary widely based on how many enemies there are, how big of a target there is, and how many icicles decide to just whiff. It's a pain to test, and at best you'd come up with an "average" of how much damage you could expect with a certain weapon. But it's not necessarily going to be the damage someone else can expect because its all random. But rest assured, it doesn't take a wild imagination to figure out Stringless is going to beat out Rust for off field damage.

Aqua Simulacra is her BiS, by quite a lot, since the 20% common dmg bonus from its passive scales really well with buffs. As mentioned in a comment by Haika only the circlet was changed between crit dmg/crit rate, and so with Aqua equipped, this Ganyu was overcapping on crit dmg and didn't have enough ATK. Just something to consider guys.

With Amos and ATK% sands I always have higher damage output, because my EM sands is not that good and I don't have enough external EM buffs (no Kazuha C2 yet). I know Aliss (a famous Ganyu speedrunner) also uses Hunter's Path for the runs, because its easy to get 100% CritRate on Blooms and with all C6 units and insane EM pieces, it outperforms Amos bow by a big chunk. For most players, Amos still might be the best choice.

Generally, melt damage is just damage multiplied by x2, and reverse melt damage is x1.5 (Ganyu mainly uses reverse melt). The exception would be with EM weapons, where EM would make a bigger difference in the melt reaction. Formula: Reverse melt = damage x (1.5 x (1 + EM_bonus% / 100) * (cryo_bonus% / 100) ), where EM_bonus% = 2.78 x ( EM / (EM + 1400) ) x 100. Average: every +50 EM is equal to ~+8% EM_bonus. If Ganyu gets the cryo bonus only from Golbet and her burst, that's 66.6%. To super-simplify the formula GanyuReverseMelt = damage x ((6.67*EM + 3500) / (EM+1400)) . To super-super-simplify: Ganyu reverse melt with 200 EM is DMG x 3, and every +50 EM is +0.1 on the multiplier (250 EM -> DMG x 3.1, 300 EM -> DMG x 3.2, ...). So in the Melt showcase, Stringless could be between 3rd and 4th place, and Hunter's path could be between 5th and 6th place.

@@ArnvalArn lol i dont care how high the damage ceiling is when you don't crit - the hunters path gives you 88.2 crit value in crit rate - this essentially means you don't have to stack any more crit rate on artifacts and can full invest into crit damage instead. if you use something like Aqua or amos instead you still have to make up for the lack of crit rate in the artifacts now. assuming you get all of Ganyu's best bows and compare them where you have balanced all the crit values to be equal - Hunter's Path will win the DPS race because it has the best passive for a melt team. if you get 10 out of 10 crits with Hunters Path and 5/10 crits with Amos because you failed to invest in the lost 44% crit rate because you just want to see big numbers then you're overall damage ceiling will be lower and your DPS will fall. Genshin is not a game of do the most damage per shot - floor 12 is full of bosses that can tank 10+ Ganyu Melt crits, Genshin is a game of consistency. get good skrub Hunter>Amos especially in the abyss where you cannot even launch arrows past 5 meters because you have consecrated beasts and samurai charging at you. even if we are comparing the maximum damage per arrow possible Amos still loses to Aqua Simulacra in a melt team LOL that 88 crit damage and damage boosting passive is just too strong for amos LEL. damage per second and damage per shot are not the same thing lol

This is a raw damage comparison. And you're still wrong It wouldn't be her best bow, It would be her best MELT team bow and melt isn't one of her more popular teams. Aqua tends to be better in Freeze, Amos for raw damage, and I'm not sure what her support BIS is bit it's likely either Polar, Stringless or Elegy. She doesn't have one single BIS.

@@kamicokrolock lol you know nothing - freeze is most popular F2P team. reverse melt is most popular among whales, speedrunners and skilled players. if we are talking about pure DPS and damage ceiling then hunter path is her best bow by a longshot and no other compares to it because of it's EM passive and 88 crit value. why would polar star be a support weapon XD and why would ganyu ever use stringless? ganyu's elemental skill is literally 1 single 10k hit of cryo damage and her burst is just for buffing cryo damage and applying cryo for forward melt nukes. go and play your garbage low skill freeze teams you noob. who even plays freeze anymore when every enemy in floor 12 is unfreezeable LOL - melt is way more popular and better than ganyu in a freeze team. do you not understand how to play ganyu? you apply pyro with bennett, swirl the pyro with venti or kazuha and suck everyone up then start nuking the enemies with frostflakes XD🤡 even 4 star chongyun is a better choice for a freeze team or Ayaka - anyone with cryo infusion

To be honest, it's a close call for the difference between Amos and Hunters Path. It depends a lot on the artifacts you already have and having both bows I usually tend to have faster clear times on Amos when playing melt. Also the optimizer always keeps me on an ATK% sands when optimizing for either highest crit hit or most consistent damage.

I pulled amos i stick with amos. I never was so lucky EVER even if it's a shit weapon I'll use it. No one willl convince me otherwise!
