i've chalked up over 60 hours on ams2 since the update and i'm loving every second racing the new ai. something else you can do is customise the ai. you can change every ability of the drivers, change names. i use excel to generate random speed and qualifying ratings within certain parameters, change the names. in effect you can have different opponents with different skills whenever you want rather than stick to the default names and abilities. it's heaven for me- who needs online racing? 😆 would love to see you continue with the racing life career

Just for your information, there is a mod that covers every real life name for every class in the game for you, if that is something you want.

I think their official career will look different than this, it's probably gonna be less RPG and more "here's a bunch of events, get qualified for them and go race whatever you want", like Project Cars 2 career. There's an app for AMS2 that does career like that too, it's called FTW, it has better event variety than RL but no finances so no buying/leasing cars, etc, you just pick an event and play through it within your class, and you advance to the next class by fulfilling certain objectives. But really all I want is for the devs to make a custom race/championship exporting and importing system so these apps can just load up the race in the game without any user work, with one click, that's all I need.

AMS2 is now the best single player sim out there, and for someone like me who has zero interest in multiplayer, that makes AMS2 the best sim there is.

Great video. I’ve read a lot about Racing Life, but never actually seen it in action until now. Seems like a great way to maximise immersion without having to go online. Very impressed!

Cheers Chris - it’s definitely super helpful in providing extra “reasons” to race, which I’ve always struggled with offline on ams 2. And the ai has come on a lot!

Great Video Ben! I think there is a lot of hunger for a good career mode racing sim on the PC. I noticed Assetto Corsa Evoluzione garnered a lot of views when I covered it. I'd love to see more in terms of an AI season through this racing life app for sure!

All we need is an AMS2 option, wich allows to run didicated server from browser, as it works in AMS1 or Rfacor or AC or any over sim. With this option career mode can be implimented by 3rd party developer. If so, all career stats and progression will be inside your browser(or native application), and game will be run just for races.

More would be great. If I could make a suggestion: Upload in 1440p even if your recording is originally in 1080p. KZbin compression gets a whole lot better at that point. Cheers!

Multi-player is a must, but it sucks how much of a back seat SP takes anymore. In the 90s and 2000s, racing games had to have good careers to be successful.

Yeah so they’re improving but still a work in progress I’d say. Some cars feel very good, others a bit less so. And some default setups / brake bias settings need updating. But it’s on a very deep sale on Steam at the moment I think so worth a go!

The best career mode, by far, I ever experienced is NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona, that was built with only four car models, with less than thirty tracks and running on 25+ yo hardwares (PS2 and Gamecube). Reiza could have delivered a career mode since day one. Unfortunately, considering their dependency on larger content to do it (according to Renato Simeone himself) and their difficulties to change some core elements on Madness Engine, I conclude that the official AMS2 career mode will be something very close to what we got with Project Cars 2... what, IMHO, would be a huge disappointment. Also, Reiza staff have a HUGE bias toward the "simulation elements" of their products and NEVER displayed (not even on interviews) any concern with "gaming elements". This could be their biggest opportunity to evolve as game designers and I really hope so... but can't build any expectation because I just don't like to put people on a position that will lead them to disappoint me... then, Reiza is what it is, for the best and the worst. Cheers!

Im still not impressed by the AI though. There are improvements, but we are not really close to it being realistic in my opinion. The AI behaves strange in some parts still, braking in places where humans do not but also their line of driving, hitting me when they get the chance. They are always sticking very close and when braking they just don't pay attention, often resulting in crashes. And they all behave the same as well, there seems no variety.
