This makes me want to cry. As a resident of South Carolina, I see an erosion of gay rights in my country after years of slow progress. Sad.
@user-bb6wb7zf2v4 ай бұрын
You people in the South will be the first to lose your gay rights. Ask Governor DeSantis when Trump referred to him as Dez sanctimonious. No colored lights on the bridges except red white and blue. How homophobic can you be? You people in the Bible belt can take it. At least in the Northeast corridor like New York City we have the stamina to stand up to this to this. New York all the way. Dump Trump, and prosecute where you can.

A friend of mine ask me if I thought he was gay. I told him "It doesn't matter." I currently have another friend who may be gay but he works in an environment that is filled with toxic masculinity. He knows my place is a safe place and he could talk to me whenever he has anything struggling in his mind. He knows me well enough that I'm trustworthy, honest, and loyal and that nothing he does or says will ever make me part from him.

Nice job, as usual. Super supportive people. Wondering if that was everyone you asked these questions of, or if there were some others with less great reactions. Few places in the US you could randomly go up to a bunch of people and the reactions would all be really positive, even if they were all tourists.

@user-bb6wb7zf2v5 ай бұрын
They may be Dutch but most of them over there are bilingual. Another foot forward for the European nations. We are so egocentric in this country Anna greater part of the population only speaks English. Over a net part of Europe most citizens speak at least two languages maybe more because from childhood this is what their schooling does.

@@teacher55oliveros even if I didn't see the whole interview and those people were from the states, they probably came from the northeast or southwest coast like California New York Massachusetts New Jersey or other states where gay people are not frowned upon, ADD thinking ahead, the supreme Court may now try to reverse marriage for gay people, under the current administration. We are once back to a minority group being ostracized for what we are. Up until recently, we were not afraid to venture forth in public as a gay couple but the animosity is growing once again and the conservatives are labeling a gay people as mentally ill. If the supreme Court gets their way, because of the conservative judges we will take a step back in time just like they did with abortion rights. Anyone who believes that it may not come just kidding themselves.

Nice to see but only half true. He should have interviewed immigrants from muslim countries (and there are a lot in NL) - their reaction would have been completely differnent and even if i don't want to generalize it's a fact that immigration made Amsterdam and NL a lot less safe for LGBT people.

It's apparent these interviews were not conducted in the state of Florida. 😛😛😛
@user-bb6wb7zf2v5 ай бұрын
You would not even be able to do such an interview in Florida. It is pretty certain that you would either be ticketed or arrested. Meatball DeSantis saw to that, but that is the name Trump gave to him. It is so nice to have roots in Europe, and see that there is humanity. The diversity created by the former president has made us become a very backwards Nation. This is not a political chant. Joe Biden had the gumption to a point a gay man and his husband to one of the highest positions in his cabinet. Under Trump they would probably be locked up, and never go near the White House. Political diversity created by the last administration has really divided the issue even further. You can actually feel the tension when you go out in public.😢

Most aggression towards homosexuals in the Netherlands comes from the Islamic minority which are newcomers. The irony is that I am often not allowed to say it but those who want to silence me are often also the ones who use these attacks as means to call Dutch people in general discriminatory.

Silly girl says older people are conservative. They’re the very people who voted in all the liberal stuff you take for granted. It wasn’t voted in by 25 year olds. The social conservatives today are extremely skewed to immigrant religious groups and one in particular. The victim status that’s applied to gays all the time is way out of date in Europe. It’s time to split the T and Q off LGB. Those are different groups with very different issues and it’s no longer helping either group to be combined together. We don’t combine Afro Caribbeans with Muslims, they are both largely non white minorities but they don’t mix and are not facing the same issues in society.
