Is an EV right for you? 5 reasons it might not be...yet.

In this video, I share 5 reasons why an Electric Vehicle (EV) might not be right for your situation - at least, not yet (as range between charges increase, infrastructure improves, and prices come down, these reasons will no longer matter). This is my perspective as an EV owner. My initial experience was negative because I didn't have a charger at home. However, I've since addressed the issues I had (I installed a charger at home and bought a longer range vehicle). Now, I can't imagine commuting with a traditional gas engine vehicle. Although I'm now enjoying EV ownership, I don't think EVs are right for everyone's situation. I hope this video provides useful information in helping decide whether EV ownership is right for you.
Note: I also own gas and hybrid vehicles and will be sharing my perspective on what I like about each in an upcoming video.

I wish our electricity was only .17 cents/KWH lol. Here in San Francisco, CA, our rates are .66 cents/KWH during peak .55 cents/KWH off peak. & if you own an EV, you can apply for a EV plan that drops it down .36 cents/KWH but only after midnight. Which is insane, there is almost zero savings compared to a gas car. But yet we still have the highest Tesla ownership here in SF compared to any other city in the US lol.

Wow, I thought 17 cents / kwh was expensive as I hear of people in other areas of the country talk about their electricity being under 10 cents / kwh . I had no idea electricity was so expensive in San Francisco.

@@TheLifeofJoeLee It sucks! Yes we have the most expensive electricity rates in the nation, with supposedly more rate hikes in the future. Tons of San Francisco Tesla owners are complaining about it on Reddit & the Tesla forums. Also if you ever decide to visit SF, definitely do not rent an EV as we have wait lines at all the Supercharger stalls, even at 11pm lol

Joe you’ve got the 2 cars that I’ve had my eyes on so you’re the best person to ask. What is the bigger bang for the buck model 3 performance or model s Plaid? And a silly question, do you think the plaid will bring on more dates from hot chicks? Cheers and thanks for the great video again

The Model 3 Performance is the better bang for the buck - used or new. The quick steering ratio, relatively good handling, and quick acceleration makes it a fun car. The Model S Plaid doesn't handle as well, but has a noticeably nicer interior, accelerates faster at any speed, and has more road presence given its size (especially the width). When I see other refreshed Model S Long Range and Plaids on the road, I still think they look nice despite having owned one for a while now. Unless you only like brand new cars, I'd recommend buying a used Plaid. Yes, I think you'll get more attention in the Plaid - it is a nicer car (reflected in the price) and is more unique considering the ratio of Model 3 vs Model S on the road.
