Rapper Andy Mineo stopped by Sway in the Morning to discuss his new project Neverland. He and Sway reminisced on old times and he also spoke about his stance on Christian rap. Mineo performed a few of his songs in-studio. Sway also introduced some young women from the TORCH program who got the opportunity to flex their journalism skills with Andy. I don't usually comment on videos on KZbin but man....I had heard about this cat and never heard his music and knew nothing about him. I listened and watched this whole video and am completely blown away. This dude is refreshingly unique and INCREDIBLY TALENTED. His punchlines and lyrics are dope and make me hit the rewind button repeatedly. On top of all of that, his message is positive and speaks to me unlike any kind of music ever has. I'm a complete Hip Hop head and super harsh critic, and after seeing this video and listening to his EP Neverland and watching those Saturday Morning Cartunez joints, this dude is up there on a level with Nas and Andre 3000 for me. Yea man, I was worried he wasn't gonna be able to catch it for a second. So many cats do so many takes in the studio that the album isn't a natural representation of their current familiarity and skill level with their own work. But Andy really got it all down pat here. Considering that these are relatively new songs and he's been on tour doing other songs he did great!
