shoutout to Quantum Break for future proofing things without ray tracing. It took years until it was playable at 60fps at 4k. And also failed miserably because they locked it behind windows store and xbox one.

@@Spratty-wb3is As a here-and-there pc seller and former (2080/2080s/2080ti, 3070/3080, 4080/4090) owner , I always knew RT is only for 1080p for it's highest tier card. DLSS is just upscaling, it's still 1080p when you compare to a native 4k image. I think it's just a bad look for Nvidia to release 5 different 4070's and all those buyers can't use it for same generation RT games without lots of compromise. I use AMD because it has less glitches for desktop use, and imo gaming. I'm sensitive to microstutters and I feel like Nvidia always strains my eyes more than AMD in the real world. I also use AMD for linux and hackintosh.

@DonovanMcNabb5 RT is far more accessible now at lower tier. Pathtracing is a different story but that's just evolution of the technology. You don't have to use it though right?

@@Spratty-wb3is ray tracing can mean anything. Honestly I like ray tracing but No, I don't use it and it's not needed. I favor Native4k and the highest Frame Rate. Reflections are awesome but it has that old crt static to it. The one where it makes water clear is awesome. I think Shadows changes the game the most. Path Tracing makes it even more awesome. But $2000 for a gpu is a hilarious ask for pathtracing. I feel like some games definitely need it. Wukong is one of those games that sadly needs rt, alongside CONTROL. Alan Wake 2 didn't need RT, but Alan Wake 2 needed glossy OLED lol. Theres more RT showcase games that need RT. I think Portal RT needs rtx 4080 just to get 1080/60, so I always figured Wukong was going to be a 1080p/60-30fps game for the 4090 even 2 years ago.

Nothing new, AMD fans did the same thing back when Tessellation was the new graphics feature, and it could be turned off as well. Also AMD fans were all laughing at Nvidia performance and lack of DLSS in Starfield and certain RE games as well when they came out but at the same time they want to be eternal victims for w/e reason.

Oh btw Spratty there's a performance helping mod already on Nexus, I've been trying it out and it's pretty good. Makes loading times quite a bit faster and reduces much of the stutter, though not all of it. It's called BMWK - SPF

It's looking to me like there are just some salty people that paid 900 something dollars on a GPU that completely crumbles if you turn on full rt in BMW and instead of pointing the finger at the company that charged them 900 bucks for a GPU that just can not do PT they are blaming it on the devs that have done what they need to do. You can't run PT then turn the shit off. BMW is actually a really scalable game they need to get some praise for it. You can run it on a handheld pretty well all the way up to a beefy pc that can run PT….pretty cool if you ask me lol 🤷‍♂️

@@DonovanMcNabb5 with some tinkering with the upscaling, you can get a decent 60fps performance out of it from the 4070 super and up….. I'm personally ok with around 60 fps if the graphics are really good on a game I shoot for around 60 fps in single-player graphically demanding games and 120 fps and up on multiplayer games.

If they didn't put those settings then they would keep doing remakes like Naughty Dog for new hardware and then people would complain about that. PS pro icoming soon so get ready for Last of Us re re re really remade, now with smellavision.

Why are there gamers who have trouble going to solution, other than affected by 'me me me' effects in what for some reason some consider an 'entitlement society, because the gaming industry and in particular hardware design producers have now increasingly 'gamed' on the amplification of their portrayals to create what are now at least 3 generations of game appliance technicians addicted on industry subliminal conditioning to maintaining their appliance. This exploded on the entitlement side when leaving 32 nm down to 16 nm components fabricated on a downward sloping cost curve, hit 8/7 nm that began an upward fabrication production cost curve continuing and it was not mining responsible for cartelization of cards by channels leaving Turing extending through Ampere this was not about AMD and Nvidia but about channels raising price to cost offset Intel overage leaving 30 years of monopolization and on that surplus loss in the channel, the media, blaming high card prices on miners was not it. Most miners were HPC operations hiding behind their crpto facades. So on these abuses mostly perpetrated by PC media to conceal their higher cut of affiliate sales from the cartelization of cards resulting in higher prices, and on fabrication cost curve now sloping up leaving 8/7 nm, the entitlement crowd, subliminally conditioned to performance increases from 32 nm to 16 nm downward sloping cost curve, now have to pay more for those performance increases and here again the PC Media on their role collecting sales preview affiliate commissions, never cultivated this new understanding and or were very slow to do so, endearing themselves to their audiences who revolted not understanding we do not live in an entitlement society mb

@@mikebruzzone9570 I'm glad you gave the short view, as I'm not intelligent enough to understand the long view 😅... I think I get what your saying. But at the same time I think forgetting costs. Some people decide for instance they don't like RT. And that's regardless of having Nvidia, AMD, high end or low end budget. But the fact they decided that they don't like or want it, they almost demand no one else can have it in game. It's like me deciding I don't want an electric vehicle as I don't like them or it won't suit my life style. And then demanding no charging points to be available, as they insult me, whilst having no effect on me 😂..

Heres how nonsensical some of this logic is. If Wukong was shipped without the full ray tracing and the preset went only up to High (no Very High or Cinematic) some of these same people would say how well optimized the game is and looks amazing. Which it does. But because they decided to go beyond and give higher level lumen and multiple RT and path tracing from Nvidia which is all optional btw, its bad because it cripples muh GPU. I think Wukong is a much better PC game for taking the settings tiers higher. I think this is newer PC gamers who dont really understand it or buy expensive cards, max settings on most games and than a next gen PC game comes out with multiple tiers of graphical settings and options and its a conspiracy all of a sudden. Its all well and good for this to go over some peoples heads but they often get kind of emotional when trying to reason with them. Calling you a shill so i dont bother but find it entertaining.

@@TerraWare The current player count on steam tells you it must have enough optimisation options, as that's a lot of 3060s playing the game 😂... I'm not saying the game is in a 100% perfect state, but compared to much bigger studios I think they did pretty good so far..

I have my gripes with how Nvidia manipulate the market with prices but when it comes to the games they sponsor they take them to the next level graphically. Look at Control for example. That was insanely demanding when it came out on the RTX 2080. Now it's a better game for having those gorgeous reflections

I mean i only have a 4070 Ti and i'm playing it fine with everything set to cinematic and full RT, the only issues i'm having are the usual stutters in sections and the purple flashes on the edges of the screen with FG enabled that only seem to happen during cutscenes.

When it comes to UE games. RT is the least of the problems in my opinion ( it's barely even a problem actually ). it's the freaking stuttering that needs to be addressed asap!!
