I bought a 14" MBP with nano texture but ended up returning it for a normal screen after 10 days. It is nice but I found I preferred using my older M2 MBP screen as the nano texture just took that extra bit of contrast away in a way I personally didn't like and text didn't look as sharp with more of a fuzziness/graininess to it in IDEs as you mention with the rainbow effect. Don't get me wrong it is a good option for some and for a day or two I kinda liked it but after a week of using both my new and old machines comparing the two I realised the normal screen is more than good enough unless you're using it literally outside with the sun shining directly on the screen which I never am so I was just paying €170 more for something I didn't actually enjoy as much as the normal screen. It is of course personal preference at the end of the day, some will love it and some, like myself, won't find any value from it. I am a developer so spend almost all my time looking at text be it code or documentation. With some video watching on it too of course. I highly recommend anyone thinking of ordering one with nano texture to use it in person first if possible.

Hi Josh, this comment isn't relative towards your video, rather aimed at your website. I'm an SEO specialist and web developer. One small thing with your website that might help user experience would to have your "Buy Now" links set to open in a new tab. I think this would greatly help users, especially on mobile who are wanting to open multiple links to compare prices across your site. It also keeps your websites bounce rate down, improving your SEO slightly. Thank you for your content as always!

I would also mention that the google guidelines suggest having user optionality in choosing where to buy from (not just a single buy button), and having preset price range filters in addition to the custom price range input ya'll already have is recced. Ahrefs did a video on this using RunRepeat as their case study, as those guys really beefed up their traffic in a short period of time using those and other practices (all covered in Ahref's video).

I've owned a 16-inch Macbook Pro M1 with the normal display since it was released. Last week I also bought a 14-inch Macbook Pro M4 Pro with the Nano Texture display and I'm absolutely thrilled. No matter what angle I look at the display from, there are no reflections. It's matte and extremely high quality. In a direct comparison, the display only has advantages and no significant losses. I hope other products like the iPhone will get this option in the future.

After using the nanotexture screen for a few weeks, I can confidently say it was the right choice for me: I can use the laptop all around the house without being bothered by glare. My previous intel MBP was only useable on my desk or living room table. With the nanotexture display I can finally use it on the couch again! With 5 years between the models, the decreased contrast doesn’t bother me, I find the screen better in every way. I just recently bought a 16" MacBook Pro and when I plugged it with the charger, I feel a slight tingling shock ( not shock, just a little vibration) when I rub the surface of it. Is it normal ? I noticed something that nobody has mentioned so far. When you look at the nano-texture display from different angles, the quality changes. The nano-texture is glass based that is etched to diffused glare
@Anvillgroup17 сағат бұрын
The matinee display on Windows devices and Apple’s nano-texture display both aim to reduce glare in bright environments, but they go about it differently. The matinee display typically uses a matte coating that diffuses light, which can sometimes make the screen look a bit grainy. On the other hand, Apple’s nano-texture display features a fine, microscopic etching process that helps cut down on glare without losing sharpness or brightness, delivering a clearer, more detailed image. While both technologies tackle the same problem, Apple’s nano-texture display does it with a more refined and visually pleasing result.

Yet another KZbinr who isn’t showing an actual comparison between the nano-texture and glossy. How about some close-up comparisons of images and text? Compare the contrast and black levels of each under different conditions. Pixel peep so we can see the true differences other than providing only vague anecdotes.
@JustJoshTechКүн бұрын
We tried that, btw. But we found our cameras didn't pick up the level of detail you are asking for. Certainly not at 8 bit color, which KZbin uses, and with their compression levels. What we are doing though is investing in an updated Spyder X tool to improve our display measurements for more advanced displays. Hope that helps
@Toglander22 сағат бұрын
@ - You don’t have a macro lens, or something else with a close focusing distance? What about just comparing the black levels under different lighting conditions? Or you could just take images of each screen with the same image and text on it, and if your camera has a high enough resolution, you should be able to zoom in and compare the detail. Basically, we just want verifiable evidence of how it affects sharpness and contrast. Your opinions are nice, but each of us has different interpretations of those opinions. Verifiable evidence eliminates speculation and provides true answers.
@JustJoshTech22 сағат бұрын
@@Toglander We absolutely invested heavily this year in lenses. We definitely have a macrolens. We used in a couple of shots that compare the 2 side by side. You may see it used in our video of "Which MacBook should you buy". What we found is that when we put the footage through processing, it did not match what our eyes saw. We had 3 of us verify this to be sure. By the way this isn't the only time this has occured. When we play you guys back sound from a laptop's speakers. The same issue comes up. Often times what is captured through the mic makes one laptop sound better than another but in real life its the opposite. For this particular issue we even worked with Sennheisser to get a different mic, which we use just to record laptop speakers. It helped but didn't solve that issue. In this case we often don't play you guys sound samples when they will be confusing. We just describe which is better and why. TLDR; 1) We could have done a macro shot side by side and at least stated "heres what the 2 look like side by side on the same image but be careful, in real life this is what 3 of us observed". That would be a useful add 2) I'd like you to take away, that this is alot more complex and challenging as it seems, and we are doing a huge amount of research and investing alot to bring you accurate content.
