Short answer: Does not work like botox in humans Pre clinical trials suggest it is similar to botox Mouse studies suggest it helps with collagen synthesis, but that's not how botox works Human study: 30% static wrinkle depth decrease at crow's feet (botox works on dynamics) Human study: 48% efficacy in static wrinkles Human study: improved skin hydration It is unlikely that topical application will be able to get to the muscle, which is where the site of action of botox is

Thanks for the summary. Even if it won't behave like as botox was injected, it looks promising to give a boost topically. Looks like it could be used along with botox to give the skin extra support. Wonder if everybody else comes to this conclusion as well.

Thank you so much for the summary. Don’t know about everyone else, but I’m not a scientist and don’t really understand how all this works and will surely not remember any of that part. It’s too much. I’d venture a guess that most folks only have time for the bottom line explanation as you’ve provided. Thanks again!

Here’s my experience with it. I purchased it because I read it was like Botox in a bottle; I don’t have wrinkles so I didn’t really expect to see much of a change, and as someone who’s never tried Botox before I was just curious. I NEVER knew my skin could use the extra “lift”, because that’s basically what it did for my skin. I have chubby cheeks, which always sagged but it lifted it. My skin looks MUCH younger, it’s almost eery. I also have a dehydration line under my left eye, so I applied Argireline under it and it’s gone. It works like Botox. I understand it doesn’t Literally work like Botox, but it gives similar results as Botox , from my experience. I’m obsessed with it, mostly since I’ve only been using it for 2 weeks.

I used to use Botox religiously, but it started wearing off within a couple of months. And spending $500 every few months isn't happening! So I tried the Ordinary's Argireline, and...it's AMAZING! I haven't needed Botox in about a year now! The only advantage I can see with Botox is that it does give me a slight lift of my eyebrows and lip, but my wrinkles are gone either way. I will never be without Argilerine!

Yup. I still have a tiny line (elevens) that would go away with Botox, but I don't have crow's feet, and my forehead lines are minimal. That said, I'm also doing a ton of skincare, including tretenoin...but argireline has really helped keep me from feeling like I need Botox. I can tell the difference when I stop using it!

I really appreciate this video. As a cosmetic chemist, I get questions like this all the time. The biggest difference I can say is that anything topical is not as efficacious as something that is injected. A majority of the skincare products in the market is so heavily marketed beyond it’s true capabilities. Personally, I am lucky enough to make my own skincare as opposed to wasting it on uber-boosted products. Lee up the great videos!

i've been using the Ordinary Argireline & Matrixyl combo for at least six months now and I've seen some improvement in the fine static wrinkles starting to form on my top forehead. It's certainly not an overnight sensation, but enough that I've kept it in my routine. I do find the combo of peptides to improve hydration, and maybe that's why the static lines look less prominent? At the price point and with zero irritation or side effects, I've been happy to keep it on the routine-- for now :) Thanks for breaking down the studies on Argireline for us!

Used with matrixyl 3000 & matrixyl synthe 6 I think you may find some benefits. I’ve used argireline combined with the ordinary matrixyl which is actually better than other matrixyl serums because it contains matrixyl 3000 as well as matrixyl synthe 6. I haven’t found any other matrixyl products that combine both in one bottle. When used together I notice the 11 in my forehead is almost impossible to move. It’s the only place on my face that this does it to. I don’t get Botox in my 11’s anymore because my injector said there’s nothing to fix! But I do not notice any stopping of the creases in my eyes or any other part of my forehead. I used to have a super deep line where the 11’s are and do not have this anymore. I cannot physically make my muscle move to make the line there. I’ve never used anything like this. I feel like it should be used with matrixyl 3000&synthe 6 for better results tho. 1 important key note is, if I skip a few days, the movement ALWAYS comes back

( I quit 7 yrs ago) I use my mix morning & night, along with a Urea cream & my skin is smooth & nearly line free. I add a retinol product 3 times a week. For the past 10 years, I NEVER go outside without sunscreen & I rarely use makeup so that I am not scrubbing it off, & thus causing lines. I eat very clean & do not use any caffeine. I drink at least 3L of water a day. The only addition to my lifestyle has been starting my skincare 3 years ago. People can NEVER guess my real age. When you look at my pics from 7 years ago to today, you can see definite smoothing. This is NOT a replacement for Botox, but the results are noticeable. I used Botox throughout my late 40s-50s when many of us are going through body and life transitions. Now, at 67, I focus on my topical skincare. I am very happy with my pretty grey naturally wavy hair and hydrated & glowing skin. For me, hydrated skin = fine line and 11s reduction. I DO use TO Matrixyl and Argeriline, but I do it for me, not necessarily wrinkle control.

I carry a lot of tension in my forehead, and really liked the feel of Botox because it relaxed everything. I let it go over the Pandemic due to all the lock-downs, but now see some of the wrinkles starting to form. I would LOVE it if there was a cheaper option I could do myself, or maybe just to stretch out the time between injections. I am trying to decide now whether to return to Botox or not. This was VERY interesting to watch, but I think I need to re-watch to catch all the info you laid out.

Same here. I just ordered this off of Amazon because of another subscriber's recommendation and it was only $13.99. The brand is Cos de Baha with the pink label. I almost bought another brand, Asterwood? but decided to stick with her recommendation. I hope this works. That’s exactly what I thought. It would be absorbed by the by the epidermis before even getting into the dermis. Botox targets the muscles to inhibit contraction, so argieline solution applied topically might not have the same effect as botox. It’s kind of common sense if you understand the anatomy of the skin and muscles. I can see how it would have a good response on surface level wrinkles. Botox is awesome lol

I was almost wondering by the end of the video if argireline would work like Botox when injected in a similar way to Botox. I use Botox for migraines, and it might be nice to have an option that isn't connected to botulism. I also didn't catch what type of human cells were used in the first study discussed. Were they dermis or epidermis? That factor might affect whether injection like Botox would be possible for argireline.

I use argireline and I have had good results while using it, but I have also done something else simultaneously, so I don’t know which one to credit more. The other thing was a home eye peel kit, which contained a bottle of 7% TCA, 35% matrixyl synthe 6 and a 0.5% retinol serum, which I was suppose to use together once a month. I used argireline twice a day and and used the natural moisturing factors over it. I am 32 and I started to see some small lines forming on the side of my eyes last year. Now they are gone. I’m not sure if I could call them «dynamic wrinkles» but they were there in the morning when I woke up, and they annoyed the heck out of me. I have done 4 eye peels. One time 1 layer of TCA, one time 2 layers TCA, two times 3 layers Of TCA. My last eye peel was in march. The wrinkles have not come back. If I laugh and smile a lot, they may form, but they «bounce back» if that makes sense.

I used TO Argireline just in the morning and saw zero results with the first bottle so I stopped using it. Then I heard it was best to use AM and PM so I started to use again. After about 60 days of consistent use, I can say without hesitation…my forehead and 11s were noticeably improved. So I have kept it up for over six months with continued improvement. I can force my forehead to move when I think about it, but it otherwise has this firm, stationary feeling. When I force my eyebrows to raise, I feel resistance. I don’t know how, if it doesn’t get into the muscle, but over time it keeps working for me and I will always buy it.
