Yeah there is definitely something called rc luck and one guy might have this truck and beat the heck out of it and have it never break but another guy has a single cartwheel and snaps an arm. Sometimes we just have bad luck with a specific truck.

@@DoRC Yeah im staying away from it. I think the kaiju is a much better option. Or the team corally sketer. You should check it out. It's a 4s tank!!

I have seen a fair few breakages with moderate bashing on the MT8, I was all set to get one as soon as they are available in the UK. Im going to hold back now on getting the MT8, due to the breakages + I am not looking for such a wheelie machine in a truck. I find it kinda boring when a truck wants to constantly wheelie, really enjoy your indepth reviews.

Replace the broken bits with Kaiju or aftermarket parts and all is good. No RC is perfect, so have fun!

@@kookiethebear I agree with that but it's just been a long time since I've had a truck break so easily so quickly. It's just hard for me to recommend the MT8 when the extremely durable Traxxas Maxx is only $50 more not including the upgrades that the MT8 will need.

At 350 it definitely presents a much better value. A lot more is known about its weaknesses now and especially with the service pack You don't need to buy a couple more things to make it a reasonably durable truck.

I have the helion avenge mt10 and the original kaiju which is similar to this so I passed on it. I had also got the team corally sketer, you should definitely check it out. It's a decent size 1/10th scale built with 1/8th scale parts. It's really a tank. It's my 3rd Team corally and I'm happy with all 3. I subbed, great channel!

Glad to hear it :-) I think that with some upgrades this truck could be good but those kind of breakages out of the box just really aren't acceptable at this price point these days.

I have to disagree. I bash mine just as hard as any other RC I have. Does it have issues. Yes. But what RTR doesn’t. And for the money you do get a really good RC. But that is my opinion. A lot of the redcat upgrades fit. All of the aluminum upgrades that I’ve looked at fit. And congrats on the subs

Yeah I think it was some upgrades it could be a good truck and maybe I just have a few unfortunate landings but I have landed pretty much every other vehicle I've bought in the last couple years worse than both of those by far without breakong anything like that. I'm glad you're having a better experience with yours and I do acknowledge that all of our experiences will be different. Thanks for commenting!

@@DoRC Absolutely bro. I do like your channel. I’ve had some pretty gnarly landings myself man like stuff I thought for sure something was broke and I’ve been lucky. I am waiting until I break some stuff before I start putting on the upgrades. I’ve sent mine at the skate park 20to 30 feet in the air. And I will say I haven’t landed all of those perfect either lol could’ve been a bad batch of plastic molds. But I have seen others breaking arms and upper links. I just think for the price of the truck For what you get is a good value. My biggest complaints with it are the size of the battery tray. And it does get warm when you run it on 6s. you have to watch the temps

@@edhcb9359 in that case the notorious is a great option. It is pretty similar to the Max in how it drives and handles though. You may want to consider a kraton or even a talion for a different driving experience

@@DoRC I was definitely considering the Kraton as well. I have the Typhon 6s already(first non-crawler RC) and I ordered a Losi TT Pro this weekend on a “flash sale” for $180 off so I will have a short course truck pretty soon too. It’s fun getting to spend money on stuff I want after a decade of saving for my kids college! 😂

Maybe. Personally I have a hard time recommending it when $450 more you can get a 4S Max which is in my experience the most durable out of the box RTR truck in the world. They're basically the same size too. With some upgrades this could be a good truck but to me it's just too fragile for anything serious. Thanks for your honesty, but that was barley a hop and it broke!? i’ve had a Kraton 4S for over 2 years and I’ve not broken one thing on that truck I’ve landed on front tire lawn dart from 30 foot jumps, flipped on wing full force rolled cartwheels at 50 mph and it’s all original parts not even joking Lol

Yeah it really didnt take much. Im torn between giving up on it ans upgrading and trying again. There is a lot to like about the platform. I juat have a hard time recommending it when the maxx v2 exists for $50 more. Thanks for commenting and a sub is appreciated!

I don't but there are a lot of videos about it. It is hands down the most durable out of the box RTR car ever made. It does kind of drive like a concrete block but it's durable

I broke arms, pins, even broke my steering rack. Driving around my backyard. No jumps j just hard turns and ripping around etc. Oh and a shock cap as well. But I still want to love it! Replacing all control arms with Kaiju arms and putting a better servo in it. Then tuning diffs. I agree, though, it would be a pass. I’m going to go ahead and try and sort mine out. I think it looks great and has a cool feel to it. But there are just to many great options out there to choose this one imo. I bought it thinking it would be a larger version of the ultra tough and durable MT10. If anyone else is thinking that, it is not.

Agreed. Its a shame because it really like it. The platform has a lot of potential. I wish they had made it more durable though. I would ha e gladly paid $50 more....

Had a few people comment that they've had no issues with them but I've done the exact same thing with a lot of other cars and not broken any of them.
