There's an book about an brain surgeon who was very against the idea of unlimited consciousness. He got in coma for 6 months and had no brain activity but still was aware of all been said in his room. After coming out of the coma he was an changed man. Wrote an book about unlimited consciousness.

You probably mean Eben Alexander. He only thinks that consciousness is independent from the brain, but he believes in independent consciousnesses for each being. He even believes in reincarnation, etc.

The minute you “ think” about Awareness it is limited. Thinking is only known thru awareness…..and never the other way around…. once you get it …. That’s it. And it is not yours. And it is and was always there. It does not belong to anyone and has no home in the body or the mind… but they are home in it
