Cool this video confirms my new purchase. I ski a 184 on my k2 Mindbender that has a lot of rocker and short effective edge. On my new skis kendo 88 I got the 177 looking at the longer effective edge and shorter rocker.

I’m 5’9 190lbs, advanced skier, spend 80% of my time off piste. I ski in Europe so depending on the time of year the snow isn’t always dry and soft. I’m stuck between 2 skis; K2 reckoner 112 177cm and Armada 116 jj UL 175cm Would you recommend that I size up to a 184 in the k2 / 185 in armada or stick with the shorter length which is around the same size as me?

5’5.5” and I ski the Ranger 102 169. You’re my hero’s.

I'm 5'8 or 173 cm, 170 lbs or 77 kg, intermediate, I ski on-piste all the time, and I like to go fast with medium turns, I think I'll buy the Atomic Redster Q4, would you recommend 161 or 169?
Does shoe size matter when you’re buying skis? Or do I have to worry about that

For the rule of thumb with your height…chin, nose or top of head…is that with your boots on or not?

Great Video! I am 5’ 10” @ 200lbs - looking to buy the 2023 Atomic Maverick 95ti - I am 45 years old (intermediate skier) i ski 80% groomers and the occasional off trail out in the west coast. I am stuck between what length to get - these skis only come in 172 (forehead height) or 180 just a little over my height. I am not an aggressive skier and I do like the occasional speed and steep black diamonds I rented 180 last year and struggled a bit on them, for my weight and height will the 172 be ok? I don’t want to regret my decision, on paper the 172 seem to be ok after looking at several charts on the web.

As someone half and inch taller and a little heavier, would say 172 sounds like decent choice! Certainly would not want go any shorter than 172.

I would go with the 180’s, I have a pair of the Maverick 100ti’s at 180 and I’m 5’9” 165. For a ski with two sheets of metal it’s still extremely light, plus that front rocker shortens the effective edge.

How does sizing snowblades come into play for this?🥳

Isn’t it the other way around due to the total surface area contacting the snow: fully cambered = skis longer fully rockered = skis shorter
@jwj8201 Жыл бұрын
You get a longer ski to compensate for more rocker. My all-mtn park ski is 175cm and my powder ski is 187cm. Your thoughts are correct, it was just worded a little different.

The rockered part won't help on icey snow while the cambered will.

I’m 6’0 160 pounds and I’d say expert skier, trying to decide between a 177 and a 184 for the k2 recknor 112 , which has a lot of rocker , any help?

184 would be my choice all day.

That was very not helpful other than "go to a pro ski shop"

Obviously going to a shop is better, these yt videos are just to get a rough general guide as ultimately it's up to personal preference and a youtube video can't tell you that
