Not nearly the same thing. Basketball is a skill game with genetics. There are players way better who will go undrafted while he getting #1 player in the nation treatment. There are only 30 teams and 14 spots per team and 60 players out of 400 get drafted per year. Someone will lose their dream and last chance to provide to a kid who is worse and dont need the money.

Theres a guy on the Denver Nuggets who was one and done, and average like 4 points per game in college. Casuals and coaches see the game differently. He was out of position at USC.
