Catania is definitely my favourite Italian city. The people from the fish market look like characters from the “Godfather”:)) Amazing city, atmosphere, food, sights… I’ve been there tens of times and after watching your video, I started planning my next visit there:)

haha yea it does seem kind of crazy, but I think Etna's eruptions are fairly predictable. so they wouldn't have let us on there if it was dangerous (I guess). I think she released all her pent up energy the night we saw her erupt 🔥

4 years living in Catania in the 90's. Todays Catania definitely appeals more to the tourist. I returned in 2023 and I was pleasantly surprised.

A beautiful city, with tons of amazing architecture and food options. I do recommend visiting, but certain areas feel unsafe and you need to watch were you walk due garbage, etc.
