It’s incredible how personal skincare is. As a dry sensitive skin person the Gentle Skin Cleanser works great for me for a 2nd pm cleanse during all months besides the winter. I double cleanse using the Elf Holy Hydration or Drunk Elephant Balms. All Cerave burns my skin and the only Neutrogena cleanser I can use is the Hydroboost Gentle Cleansing Lotion Fragrance Free (love!)

Facts!!! Skincare is soooo personal. Even if you read all of the ingredients it only gives you one side of the story! I’m happy it works well for you! I’m sad that it’s a bit too drying for my own skin!

I feel like people hate on it sometimes because of how hyped cerave is. and I think what needs to be realised is that cerave and cetaphil are two different brands. maybe they're in competition but one doesnt need to be bashed to make the other look better. some people cetaphil might work while some people cerave might work. it all depends on the person and they're both good brands. Also Cathy your smile is AMAZINGGG

Totally! I hate this trend of cerave=always good but anything else =bad. People don’t realize how different our skin is, mine loves cetaphil products but cerave made my skin an inflamed mess

Right so Avocado oli doesn't clog your pores then? also what's your skin type dude?
@msk-qp6fn Жыл бұрын
@@emerald_sustrai2002 it's really a matter of formulation and your own body and skin condition whether something clogs your pores and to what degree. for example, the cetaphil moisturizing cream does not clog my pores whatsoever when i used it during the night but when i am awake and active and get sweaty or hot, it does often trigger acne. same applies to vaseline which is known to be not comedogenic even though whether what is comedogenic or not is based on a study that definitely is questionable. One my other favorite moisturizer is mustela hydro babe and mustela in general uses avocado oil and exctract as its main ingredient and they're sunscreen and hydra babe body moisturizer is absolutely lovely and never clogged my pores/triggers my acne even during the day.

People tend to be this is so basic so it's overhyped/bad when it comes to Cetaphil and often use Cetaphil and The Ordinary as a comparison to criticize it (in regards to using "interesting" ingredients and vegan/cruelty free status) based on what I have observed. Now those criticisms are valid....but I personally think they're also pretty dumb when being stupid basic helps Cetaphil be very sensitive skin friendly and its none cruelty free/vegan status can be tied to its mother company being a pharmaceutical company (same one that owns Differin) not a cosmetic company.

Hi Kathy the videos I’ve watched of yours are really helpful. I’m having trouble building a skincare routine for my oily-acne skin. Im not sure what to do. There is so much info on KZbin from different skincare gurus that it can get confusing. But I trust you with my skin. Can you make a video on this please? Including what products, ingredients, steps, skincare equipment and whatever else we should use. Just explaining everything we need to know to have good skin. Thank you :)

Fyi, Cetaphil did reformulate prior to the new look; they used to use macademia nut oil instead of avocado oil for their body moisturizers. Had no issues with it triggering acne at all back then and they absorbed a lot nicely. As sad as it is, Cetaphil is sticking to being affordable af as possible and I respect that, although I also firmly believe it is possible to make avocado oil products that don't trigger the acne. Mustela hydro babe body lotion doesn't for example.

I used to see my sibilings use Cetaphil before. I never got into it until I used another brand that really dried out my face. After that I decided to slowly incorporate Cetaphil cream and oily skin cleanser. Even though the cleanser does smell like "baby scented" it just cleanses away after. I really like now! I love how it's super simple too for everyday use. I guess it depends, you just have to try it out for yourself if it works for you ^__^

I actually use the Cetaphil lotion as my milk cleanser and or first step cleanser because of the big size and how it doesn’t like absorb into your skin like some milk cleansers (Sioris, make:prem etc)!

I bought the Cetaphil moisturizing lotion a few weeks ago and instantly regretted it. I could see how it works for some people, but it's way too thin and sticky for my taste. When it comes to daily lotion, CeraVe wins my vote by a landslide.

I actually really like the gentle skin cleanser. Works well for me and I’ve used it for like 13 years. I do however have to say the reformulation of the moisturizing lotion was AWFUL. It use to contain macadamia nut oil and it was amazing. I now buy the off-label no name version of this product that still contains the macadamia nut oil and not the avocado oil. Shame cetaphil made that change. 😭 if they changed back I would gladly buy the cetaphil version again.
@CathyonSkincare3 жыл бұрын
Yes the gentle skin cleanser isn’t awful it’s just a powerful cleanser so good if your skin is oilier!and yes I prefer the macadamia nut version as well! That’s clever to get the no name dupe of the old formulation!!!

Yes ur absolutely right Cetaphil has an alcohol engridients that would irritiate your skin.... My skin peels from a rash burn... After i took a shower i put a cetaphil lotion in my skin that was peel. gives me a burning sensation...I'm not bad mouthing this lotion.... This lotion is good for dry skin it moisturized your skin. Just dont put this if your skin is peeling.

It's interesting how different formulas seem to work better for newer generations. Cetaphil has been around longer than Cerave and has been a staple for many for longer, so Cetaphil's products must have worked otherwise they would have been either discontinued or reformulated years ago. Now some may argue that we haven't changed and that we just got used to better formulas but I have to question that considering that it is rather obvious how the environment/climate has changed even in the past 5~7 years on a global scale. Just saying. Anyways, although I never had much of an issue with Cetaphil, it's nice to see them reformulate to bettet match the new generations' preference and skin.

Could you make a video about some of the neutrogena products, I can’t tell what’s good or not 🤔
@nickylapiel26753 жыл бұрын
Don't think it's overhyped. I think that there are a lot of people who don't understand how these products are formulated and how ingredients can work based on their concentration. Plus, everyone's skin reacts differently to each and every ingredient, so let's entertain just how big the permutations of experiences are for every product that is used. Someone with oily or dry skin might have bad experiences with Cetaphil and someone with sensitive skin won't even react to how SLS was used here. Plus, water is not a filler in our skincare. Our bodies are made up of 70% water, how can its basic ingredient be just a filler, right? 😊

I've been wanting to try Cetaphil for a while now, but since I never heard anyone talking about it I never did 😂 and now I'm not sure I actually will. Cathy, I have a question. I recently bought a moisturizer with HA without realizing, and I'm really scared it's going to dry my skin out. So I've been spraying my skin with water before and after putting it on. Is damping my skin only before enough? 🤔 I'm afraid spraying water on my skin after the moisturizer will lead to water loss.
