80% of the WR in the league now is a product of Ocho Cinco. Jump releases of the ball, Quick feet, double moves at the top of the route and celebrations. He inspired a whole new generation that’s HoF material to me.

Chad was probably the only spotlight personality that was actually likeable and a joy to see. Always caused attention for the right reasons.

Chad is easily a HOF He passes the eye test in terms of his overall dominance. Plenty of current WRs talk about his feet, quickness, route running, and his big play ability If we're going by the dumb stats(not saying you shouldn't have a resume) but Michael Irvin is in the HOF and his numbers are not much better You can go down the members of the HOF and easily see why they are in there if you watch the tape and not just look at numbers

He helped the Bengals make it back to the Playoffs in 2005 after missing out the previous 14+ seasons. Thats an accomplishment in its own right

I'm a Steelers Fan but I will say Chad Johnson was a real BadAss of a Wide Receiver without question he was really something to watch he was special player no denying his Talent his awesome Celebration in the EndZone make no mistake about is he the greatest players in franchise history? YES he really is but the one thing he didn't do was win a Super Bowl Ring with the Bengals but he did go to the Super Bowl in 2011 with the Patriots but didn't win the big game but no matter what he's the real deal in Cincinnati when they drafted him in the 2001 NFL Draft 2nd Round Draft Pick Oregon State! 4:04

I see the hall of fame as this: if we were going to create the nfl bible chronicling the entire story of the nfl, what are the names in this thousands page book need to be mentioned in order to truly tell its story. Chad Johnson earned his spot, maybe not first or second ballot but eventually. Everyone of our generation will remember all the stuff he’s done, him bribing refs with a dollar, his touchdown celebrations, his attitude that everyone loved. 50 years from now people will watch old clips and laugh remembering him whether or not them being bengals fans. That’s all u need to know

If he played for longer, yes. If the Patriots didn't cut him after only 1 season that was overall mediocre, and they tried to make plays specifically meant for him and Brady to connect on, you would see Brady to Ochocinco become a super threatening combo in his second or third season there. It could look somewhat like a Brady to Moss or Montana to Rice kind of combination. Unfortunately because he didn't play for long enough though, I don't know if he'll get into the hof, especially with domestic violence on his record. :/ It's like a watered down story of Antonio Brown. Yes they were both beasts and at the top of what a wide receiver could do, but off the field shit can stop you dead in your tracks to earning that awesome legacy.

Bengal fan here. I would put Ken Anderson, Boomer Esiason, and Isaac Curtis before Chad. No offense to Chad but if you go by numbers you have to realize he played in a passing era. There are going to be a ton of guys with his numbers. Also he clowned around way too much for me.

Hm, its a toss up. Im a huge bengals fan but dont see him getting in. His peak was Hall of fame, but he needed another elite year or 2 good years. With another 10-15 touchdowns and another 1,500 yards he'd be in no questions.

1. In an even playing field no. Great player but not HOF caliber 2. But when you consider the fact that Edgerrin James, Jerome Bettis have gotten in and Gore will get in. When you consider than Mike Evans might get in - Ochocinco deserves to get in So no but considering worse players have gotten or will get in - then yes

I'd just say this : 1) Chad was great not very good (cf Deion Sanders on who should get elected) 2) You won't find 11 former players tapes that the NFL still use EVERY season 3) They are not a lot of players in NFL history who got 50% of his impact in their respective franchise's or position's history (let alone their club state/community) Bonus : Don has done more for the NFL worldwide brand than most HoF My interrogation : Given the stretch of the season idk how the postseason arguments come up without addressing the states of the team's key positions + the overall performance before and after. In my eyes regular season performances throughout one's (non QB) career matters way more than the POffs who are more likely to be a testimony of the overall team greatness. But since the pseudo arguments are established with variable geometry .. 🙄

The general HOF😊 he not getting in unless it in the twilight zone! His appearance in the postseason wasn’t enough for 😊😊Although there are players with stats that are similar or less than his more than likely they are in because of major contributions they did that he hasn’t been able to,such as 😊when it matters.Postseasons, playoffs appearances,How he performs in the playoffs.performances against elites defenders and defenses.Antonio Brown has greater chance of getting In the HOF than Chan Johnson.
