I've always felt that conferences were much closer than the SEC and Big Ten super fans would like to admit. I understand that most highly rated talent goes to those two conferences and that more money is put into those programs. When it comes down to it, though, it's still football; passion can come from anyone, and in college, especially David always has a chance against Goliath. Many people from all sorts of schools and different star ratings make it to the NFL. I like having a playoff format because it will finally highlight that all these schools are not so different when put Head to Head.

Colorado and Arizona St were indeed a surprise. However, none of the others even have a winning record despite several being expected to compete.
